if you handstitch, I have so much admiration & respect for you. I used to handstitch my clothes back together as a teenager because I hated buying new clothes and my goodness was it a whole different ballgame EDIT: your voice is so nice to listen to. I had to replay a few parts and you just speak so softly it's nice to listen to
I just visited my first pagan pride festival last week and I found this gorgeous tarot card bag that I had my eye on, but sadly could not afford. not 2 days later, I am still thinking about the bag and suddenly this shining light appears with an easy and creative diy for tarot bags and mats. This is so lovely. Thank you for making this!!!! ♡
I just started watching your vids last night I stayed up till 4 in the morning I've tried watching other witches but you are the only one that speaks fluently and calm instead of rough and saying things like you have to have this or that to be a witch I love your vids and I've started drawing sigils everywhere now my mom is a bit concerned 💜🏳️🌈💜
@@kathrynh685 Well, she doesn't have to believe in them, just to respect your believes. And just as she don't have to believe in witchcraft or "supernatural" things, you don't have to follow her believes and be a Christian. Also, I'm not going to tell you what to do with that, but I have seen several Christian witches on internet, so you can be both 💖
I would highly recommend top stitching around the edges of the mat once its all turned out - it helps keep the seams from shifting around, and will close up the little gap in the end. Love this idea!
This is incredible. As a baby witch in hiding, this channel is super helpful and I have managed to create a mini alter under my bed! Thank you so much, you are truly an inspiration!!! 🌞🌙🌻
If you are trying to hide it from people inside your home, i would suggest a fake book box or make it look more like a craft kit with projects on top. As pretty much anything under the bed is looked at suspiciously (if its not garbage)
If you don’t have a sewing machine or sewing skills, fusible interface would work really well for a no sew option. A couple of buttons and a small elastic hair tie could be a great modification as well. Thank you so much for the inspiration! I ❤️it!
Yasssssss, I'm so happy to see you doing a sewing tutorial! I love that you chase down random subjects that interest you and you're not afraid to make the subject matter of your channel varied :) If you ever need another cool sewing project I'm a witch with 35 years of sewing experience and I can make a pattern for anything :D
I absolutely adore your channel, you and everything that you post. You truly inspire me to expand in more ways in my newbie crafting. I’ve been binging on all of your posts, better then any movie series, seriously ❤ Many blessings beautiful soul
I’ve been making these for fun and I also think it would be cool to sell them at my local witchy shop that accepts artisan goods and will sell them for you. But the few I’ve made are 17x20-ish inches. Which I think are huge but I made them huge because my main tarot deck is big and lives in its box while wrapped in the mat. So I was wondering, hypothetically, if anyone were to go buy a tarot mat what would be your preferred size? Ans how would you store your decks with them? In the box or naked in the mat?
Uuuuggghh I just ordered another tarot deck I saw the art and my little witchy heart fell in love can't wait for them to come in My first deck is a solid training/learning deck Love it
Amazing idea I must say I'm tempted to do one as soon I have the time to do so . The only thing I would add to this you can add fusible fabric to avoid bagginess but that simply pushing the concept. Now I will have to see what fabric I have left at home and can convert to this
I like this project and will definitely be using utilizing it in the near future. Also I ordered my first sips by box this month and I should be getting it soon. Thank you for the recommendation.
I've actually been working on crocheting myself a tarot mat to match my deck. It's turning a lot better than I thought it would. I like your DIY for a travel mat! I might have to make that next.
I have a smaller deck (regular playing card size) and I found that using a bandana works really well. The size of the cards lines up with the design on the bandana which is satisfying when placing them.
Olivia ur just an amazing beautiful, kind helpful human I stg ur a gift to all our life’s watching ur vids makes my day a lot less gloomy thank you for that
I just recently decided to get myself a few new decks.. now I simply have to make one of these for every deck I have! Lol. I love the fabric patterns chosen too!
That Weirdo Hamilton Fan you might have more items for your altar than you think! Try using natural items to represent the elements or season. Shells for water, feathers for air, a lava rock for fire, an interesting root or found stone for earth. Since it’s Samhain, you might have items from family that you can include to bless your space and remember them. Check the dollar store or second hand store too, just make sure to cleanse your items. You don’t have to spend a lot to find items to make a really magical altar, just keep your eyes and heart open. Look at Olivia’s excellent example, her first witchy video was moon water, which is a free ingredient, and she crafts cool magical wall hangings from natural branches. Blessings on your magical path!
That Weirdo Hamilton Fan 1. Hamilton is amazing 2. I am a baby witch too, and I’m in hiding, so my alter literally consists of a little claustrophobic corner under my bed lol 😂
My little alter consists of wood Incense holder, empty glass candle🕯 that holds the incense, tea light candles that i burn daily, a few stones . All these little items are on a wood plank that’s on top of my plastic dresser drawer from Walmart lol that holds my sage , palo santo and mini variety of tea light candles White, green, red ,cream color. Easy set for meditation 🧘♀️
Ive been looking at matching tarot bag and mat sets and they're usually $40 CAD/set. I think this is going to be the better option for me because its personalised, 2 in 1, and budget friendly. Thanks, Olivia!!
Love this, I made one last year for a witchy gift swap, mine had a pocket to store the cards and long fold out flap as the mat. I love your videos and your aesthetic. 😊
This was an awesome and informative video. I actually made a Tarot mat myself not long ago because I could not find one for sale that I liked. I really feel like putting the time and energy into making your own personalized one gives more positive energy and love to your cards. I suck at sewing and I still encourage others to try this as I have 😊
Used this tutorial today to make my own, albeit with my own riff on the closure method. Would love to show you. Thanks for posting PS your voice is so charming
I also did a how to video on making these mats, I do sew my ribbons a little bit different, but I absolutely love your idea of the stretchy ribbon. Thank you for sharing sweet darling. ♥
This is great. Thanks for sharing. I starting learning how to sew this week. I am excited to do a water resistant version and do some color magic with the threads for intuition and clarity.
Omg this video is sooooo beautiful 💚 I usually watch it to relax my mind, Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your advices!! Blessings from Monza [Italy]
I was finally able to make one of these! I forgot to pick up a ribbon to do the closure, so I used a price of the scrap fabric and it’s perfect because it’s a lil stretchy! I used satin for the “inside” (that the cards will sit on).
I like to 'feed' my tarot with energy from charged crystals. Normally I keep them in the same box with my cards, but you could easily stitch a drawstring bag into the edge of this mat to keep something like that with your cards if you wanted to. Would be a good place to keep any kind of protections or used as a juju bag if you like too.
Or perhaps attach a stone cage at the end of the ribbon, which would let you switch out different tumbled crystals/stones that you want to keep with the deck.
I went to a local occult store and looked at all the cards, and bought the one deck I liked the best. I also recently purchased one of the decks that Olivia showed in a recent video that just spoke to me.
This is amazing! I've been trying to work out how to make something like this for a while and this is amazing. Love your videos and yooooooou. You've helped me so much in my craft and I just wanna send some of the love you spread back to you. So thank you 😊💕
1st you're awesome and love the videos... 2nd This was really neat to see... I just got my first set of tarots last week now I have a nifty little craft I can do for them...
I have a small pillowcase that has the ouija board design that Ive been using as a tarot bag cuz it zips. A friend ended up making me one cuz it was freaking my friends out that i was carrying around a ouija "board" 😂😂😂😂
I needed this video! my deck is in the flimsy card holder it came in and its just crumpled to pieces, been trying to find something new to keep them in and this perfect!! thank you
if you handstitch, I have so much admiration & respect for you. I used to handstitch my clothes back together as a teenager because I hated buying new clothes and my goodness was it a whole different ballgame

also to the people who see this: You’re amazing and you’re doing great keep your head up high
Right back at ya! In case you haven't heard it lately, you are loved, you are adored, and you make the earth better with your presence.
Erin Nicole that means a lot!! you’re an angel ❤️
This made my morning ❤️ I hope you know you’re amazing, stay strong
This is so sweet 🥺 thank u!
Usually these kinds of comments pass me by… but for some reason this meant a lot. Thank you so much 🥰
writing a little intention or a sigil on the interior before you flip it inside out is a great idea too :)
ooo good idea! You could write a petition too if you wanted to
I made one and sewed a lil pentacle on it!! :)

im going to do this for my first deck. it's a little mean, but it's still my first deck and i want to honor it in some way

Shanes Pigs I found out about her a few days ago, and have been binging ever since. My mom is nervous too... 😂
My mom is worried about me buying Tarot cards and crystals!
@@kathrynh685 why would she be worried?

Also a tip with woven cottons. If you make a small cut then tear the fabric it will make perfect straight lines.
Does that work in any direction or just up/down and left/right?
Thank you so much for posting witchy videos. You have taught me so much in my craft 💜 much love and blessed be
Oh, so easy and it looks and works perfect! ❤❤

Great video! Very explanatory! Thank you! I watched and did your video a few years ago so it took me a minute to find it.💜
This would be great as a gift even if they were made big you could always fold them to fit!
Brilliant!!! Came off ebay saw this and voila. Cost effective and made immediately. Nice One!!
What a great idea! Instead of making bags for each set of cards and using a mat, I can just make one of these for each deck to keep them in.
I guess I will make that so I will also be able to use it for my crystal ball !
I've actually been working on crocheting myself a tarot mat to match my deck. It's turning a lot better than I thought it would. I like your DIY for a travel mat! I might have to make that next.
These are so cute!!!!!!
Already went out and bought fabric and made mine!!
Thank you SO much for sharing this! I’ve been trying to find a cute bag for my deck with no luck. Totally making a few of these!!! ❤️
That is super awesome thank you so much I will definitely make some!
This beautiful thank you for doing this. Bless you and your videos
You could also do a top stitch around the border with a decorative stitch (that come with some machines) or even embroidery on the corners
I have a smaller deck (regular playing card size) and I found that using a bandana works really well. The size of the cards lines up with the design on the bandana which is satisfying when placing them.

I just made a couple for my Oracle and tarot cards and added herbs in the mat. Love it.
What a great idea. Thank you
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to store my cards this is awesome! Love these diy vids 🌙💫
Cute idea! For sure want to make one or two for some of my decks.
