Jak and Daxter's ending is one of the best in any video game i ever played. Its just so magical as you see every location you been to on top of that huge pillar, and the day and night feature bring the world to life. Great game 10/10

That "completionist ending" with the 100 power cells killed me when I was a kid. I saw that door after the final battle and it really motivated me to find all of the power cells. I was expecting something great or at least mildly adequate like an after story, some deleted scenes, or at least some concept art or something but all I got was lies.
This game has aged incredibly well.

I agree. I've never played Jak and Daxter before now (though I had and loved my ps2). This year, in 2019, I played the first Jak and Daxter on ps3 and I enjoyed it very much.

This was the first PS2 game I ever played. Loved every minute of it, and it remains as the only platinum trophy I have ever gotten, and ever wanted to get.
I just got my platinum trophy last night on my PS5 when I completed the game with 100% and let me tell you this, the navigate through the blue rings is a real stressful challenge and it took me 18 tries to complete and I did.
@Nick It came out on the PS2 in 2001 and on the PS3 in 2012 as part of the HD trilogy remaster.
The tease is actually for the second game in the series. It's a sequel hook.

Eh, I'd say they're great, but not brilliant. 2 is a strange genre shift and has a difficulty curve that's similar to a rollercoaster, 3 is uninspired and the vehicles have strange handling, X is... well, X and Daxter suffers from bad performance, is surprisingly linear and the open world is emptier than NMH.

Jak and Daxter is one of my absolute favorite Naughty Dog games. I wish they would've stuck with the same formula when they moved onto Jak 2 and Jak 3. The first game was goofy and fun but the second was more serious and frustrating. Jak 3 created a nice medium but I feel like nothing ever compared to the original.

Honestly I disagree. While two was the most far off, I found myself loving three more than one. It was the evolution of the game into something more mature, while still holding onto its roots of kookiness. It fleshed out the most of the world, characters, story, gameplay, and nailed it pretty well.

While I can see where you are coming from, it's not like their quality has decresed, so the "*sigh good times" part may be a bit melodramatic.
Companies change, yet ND have consistently good quality. Maybe when they're done with Last of Us Part II, they'll either continue with at least a third game like they normally do, or they'll go in a new direction and maybe tackle a new game genre.
Now they create masterpieces and the best of the best games

I hated that level but I think the hardest level is the one where you're running away from the giant machine gun vehicle and you're controlling Jak while looking through the machine gun's perspective

+Tiger Festivals iirc, I far jumped and if you combine your attacks with your gun you get an increased rate of fire. So far jumping and gun spamming and taking my time was how I did it. I don't ever want to do that mission again

spin offs would incur a game that follows a side character on their own story while the main characters story is going on like Cleveland show or torch wood jak and daxter 2 3 and MAYBE Daxter are main series games as they continue off where the last game ended I say maybe for daxter as that games ending is in jak and daxter which follows daxter trying to find jak, and daxter is a main character in the games series and is a plot point in the main games series as daxter finds jak

I encourage you to play 2 and 3 to see how it becomes darker and more challenging. I appreciate your honesty and attention to detail with something that brings back such fond memories of my adolescence. Is it me, or are the completionist videos getting even better. All this background info is great!
The bonus ending is them looking at the portal for the beginning of Jak 2! And oh man does the combat get more fun in 2 and 3 with guns and dark/light Jak, racing, future cataclysm, and FREAKING HOVERBOARDS! I get the simplistic points in this vid for the first but holy crap its one of my all time favorites from my childhood.
I remember loving the third one the best, yet, The Precursor Legacy always held a special place in my heart. I still have all of the games but The Precursor Legacy is the only one that still works to this day.

Maxwell_ Edison I mean, while i agree that the transition in tone felt jarring, it wasn't at all cringy. Naughty Dog did an amazing job of making Jak 2 feel like a great game in itself, while still giving nods to Precusor Legacy.

This was the first game I completed 100%. I didn't have a memory card at the time for my ps2, so I would restart everytime, eventually I memorized the entire game and completed it 100% in one sitting. I will always love Jak and Daxter. Plus Jak was my first crush. 😍💕
Hah! Same for me! When I got a PS2 with this game, the store was out of memory cards. So the first few days I had to restart the game every time I played (my parents wouldn't let me keep it on). But I didn't mind one but. Though best I could do was about 30% in 2-3 hours I think.

I LOVED this game. It was one of the first I ever completed. Yes, it's simple and easy, but it was still fun and kept me engaged.
I'm okay with the games getting harder, but I wish they had kept the original feel that this game had.
I freaking love the Jak & Daxter series! Among the PS2 platformers it's my second favorite franchise. Sly Cooper is number one. And Ratchet & Clank is okay.
the Jak and Daxter trilogy is the game of my child hood and near and dear to my heart, and It kinda saddens me that hardly anyone has actual played it or even knows of it on this youtube/internet media, hell we only recently got a lore in a minute for the game 4 months ago (from that 5 year old channel) but gladdens me that you played it, enjoyed it, and gave it's long over doe recognition for the great game that it is. Great review, I enjoyed a lot your thoughts about the game. I just discovered *JAK AND DAXTER* a few days ago on _PSVITA/PS3/PS4_ and got a blast replaying it over and over just to get some trophies, hanging out with this good platformer-adventure game, having a great time just moving on with the linear adventure and listening to the voice acting on different languages (yeah, I guess it gives me the impression I never played it haha). Great job, cheers!
For everyone saying Jak II is "hard": It's not "hard", it's just frustrating with its minimal checkpoints when you die in 4 hits. It's still the best Jak game, period.

I know Naughty Dog won't do it but they could get a team with enough passion behind it, case and point Sanzaru Games who did the Sly Trilogy Remaster on PS3 and then did the AWESOME Sly 4 themselves on PS3/PSVita 👍)

What do you mean we're rewarded with nothing??????? That's what you call a CLIFF HANGER!!! It's all explained in the second game! Even if you were joking about it being nothing, you should have said that it was just a joke and that it was a cliff hanger!!! Now people who watch this video but have never played the game will think that this scene had no relevance and never got explained! The cliff hanger just goes with the whole theme that makes it like a TV show, they always have cliff hangers.

To this day, the Precursor Robot is one of my favorite boss battles, and designs in a game. Sure, nothing it inherently special about it in most ways, but I just love how it looks, and how the battle really did feel challenging figuring it out during my first encounter with it. Heck, when I first got to the top to face Gol and Maia I actually just went to the edge where the platform takes you to them, stared down for a while, and just saved my game and quit from how intimidating of a boss it seemed like for the pure size alone, not even taking the amount of weapons piled on it into consideration at the time.
Maybe it's my obsession with machine and humanoid robots, but that boss is still one of my favorites, and the song goes with it hand in hand perfectly making it impossible to have either of them in mind without the other soon following. Great and challenging game, easily lovable characters with memorable personalities and designs, and a fantastic final boss.
I absolutely love that intro background with all of our favorite Sony games! I bonded with that wall of legendary games, my soul is forever grateful.

This community is still alive and well via the speedrunners of the game like OutrageousJosh, ThaRixer, Headstrong and Jazz. Seeing the glitches and tricks in this game 20 years later is amazing to me
very minor, but there are 2 different endings to that scene: one where you have all the Power Cells, where Daxter is a bit egomaniacal; and one where you don't, where Daxter complains about getting MORE Power Cells.
this is actually one of my favorite games, and my favorite series and I a bit disappointed you didn't see the ending for what it was: a tease to the next game. what DID they find behind that door? what mysteries are there to unlock? it kept me going to my school library every month to be the first person to read PSM just to see when Jak 2 would come out. and I guarantee...
you will NOT be disappointed!

If someone like Bonesaw577 can high speed let's play Jak and Daxter to 100% completion in 2hrs then I'm sure most people can 100% the game quickly.
If you know what you are doing a single day completion isn't difficult, streamlined for the best routes can make it very simple.
Not really that hard Mega, play any game enough times and you can beat them faster and faster. I beat Dark Souls frequently in only a few hours and that nothing comared to speedrunners

Hahahahahahahaha, you think this game is easy? Just wait until you play Jak II. Chances are you'll be saying how hard that game is, as opposed to how easy this game is.
it's fiiiine.....unless you are trying to get the piece of mar from out of the slums, then the unprepared get ass blasted. Oh and for Hero mode, it's fiiiine.....unless you do the mission to destroy the freighters at the drill platform and can't get past that first section cos the double damage and the damn drop off point of your shots.
After some practice, I got better at the water slums mission. But that drill platform mission can just go to hell!
Some other frustrating ones include bombing the eco wells, escorting Krew's men in the sewers, the class racing stages and that GODDAMN TITAN SUIT!!!!!! (God, I loathed that thing)
But Jak II is one of my favourite games of all time and its challenge is kind of one of the reasons why :)
Broken TV Games eco wells isn't that difficult just need to know there was one hidden off in a corner. Escorting is really just an ammo conservation mission, the races are indeed rather bullshit and the titan suit stages are mostly just monotonous for me
. As a kid though gotta say, the bug memory puzzles in the temple of Mar gave me a run for my money.
Ah yeah they were pretty annoying but they weren't the worst for me. You just had to keep a very close eye on the bugs

A lot of these games, me and bro beat while we were still kids, at least younger than 13. Hearing that they're actually pretty easy, over a decade later, kinda gives me a chip on my shoulder as a gamer. It also makes me want to go back and play these games (though, alas, the PS2 we played them on probably isn't with us anymore).

Jak and Daxter Precursor Legacy was the first game i ever completed 100%, before that game i usually just got satisfied by completing main story of a game
I think Ratchet and Clank won as they are the only franchise that continued and is still continuing to release games.
And nice touch having some Ratchet and Clank music in the background which I'm assuming is because of how closely Naughty Dog and Insomniac worked.

I also heard that naught dog started the development of Jak 4 but didn’t complete it due to the fact that the developers believed they weren’t doing it for the series but for marketing. And they didn’t wanna ruin the series due to creating a game based off of marketing. So instead of making a bad Jak 4 and ruining the series, they left it be with a great and amazing Jak 3

When you collect 100/101 power cells, the cut scene that plays is foreshadowing the events of JakII without giving any spoilers. It's like waiting to the end of an Marvel movie to see what's coming in the next installment.
The series as a whole is really interesting and goes in depth towards the history and future of the world, including why Daxter looks like an animal made up by the Avatar the Last Airbender creative team.

Jack and Daxter I think was the only PS game of its kind I played. My brother didn't see Sly Cooper, Crash, or anything else like them interesting but when we both saw this we jumped on it so quick!
I've kept my PS2 just to play through the games again and again until they are hopefully brought to the PS4 (don't have the PS2).

I finally went back and beat this game. When I was a young kid, about 6 or 7, I never got past the first set of areas (Sandover Village, Sentinel Beach, Forbidden Jungle, Misty Island)

I remember Jak and Daxter being one of the first games I completed and I loved it. Although part of that I think was that I didn't expect there to be a completion bonus. So when the game gave a nod to what I did, even a mediocre one, it felt pretty good. Then Jak 2 came and I was just left going, "You expect me to do what now?"
The "VR sold separately" made me think that you actually you had to buy a VR machine, take to it a place that has the machine, and then you can play it. ONLY IF you bring YOUR OWN VR headset can you play this amazing game.
It's like what if you had to bring your own lever to play slots, or your own deck to play black jack. Except, you know, the deck costs only 3 easy payments of 299.99.

Idk about the 3rd party game decision, but that Screen Flipping at the end of the episode is a nice idea for a part of a game. That rocket ride while the screen turns seems like it would be a fun challenge. Like having to watch your movements while the screen turns. Having to switch directions from one side to the other while your character keeps moving forward. Maybe adjust the speed a little slower, but I think it may be a good time.

Yo, thumbs up for that Totaly Sick Intro! And that background music from Jak and Daxter Sent chills down my spine and hella flashbacks Popping into my head. Jak and Daxter to me is Of Inmense Meaning since it was the 1st ever videogame I played. Ive never had another game like it. I will always have hope that they bring us J&D Back to Current Gen. Never lose hope🙌🏻 Again, thumbs up.

I loved playing the Jak and Daxter games growing up. It was one of my favorite franchises for the PS2. I really have to go back and replay the games sometime.

I Love Jack and Daxter. I started playing the second game, so i dont know the diffrence from the first game, but i have heard that it was a huge change in difficulty. My favorite was 3. thanks for the reveiw, and keep up the good work.
