This may sound silly, but every time I hear this song, it makes me cry. I think of my adopted mother and how good she was to me, during the most difficult times in my life. When my birth family turned their backs, Mrs. Sutton, picked me up when I was DOWN. I will ALWAYS love her.

The Stylistics, Blue Magic, Main Ingredient, Chi-Lites, The Spinners, etc, were ALL killing it in the early
to mid-seventies! And their popularity is as high as ever because no one has been able to come close!
R & B will never be the same!

I’m a 23 yr old who was raised by a 70 year old gentleman , this is the type of music I grew up on . So much soul , class & heart put into the lyrics . I remember it was 2005 and he still used his 8track player to play B.B. king ... memories

Like a breeze this Song, if you lived in the 70's...you would hear it wafting from car radios, ice cream shops...stores , and casual restaurants. It is hauntingly beautiful and unadorned , the era was difficult for sure...but unlike today. ...people were communicating on a solely different level.

I grew up listening to rock n roll, Stones, Neil Young, all of them. We would hear this on the radio and shrug. Wow, now I hear The Stylistics and the memories just roll back. I never knew until recently just how much influence these groups actually had on me. Great music is great music is GREAT music. Some of these tunes, even more than my old favorites, can make an old rocker like myself tear up with memories of days gone by. I wish I knew then what I know now - these guys were pure class.

This song gives me goose bumps 42 years later, I was 15 years old .....when I saw these guys singing this song in 1974 at CNE- Exhibtion Place in Toronto. I remember Russel Thompkins the Lead singer putting the mic down and singing without the mic and we could still hear his angelic voice thru out the stadium. I will go to my grave loving this song and The Stylistics.

"Without you, life has no meaning or rhyme, like notes to a song out of time". If you love someone with all your heart & soul, these are some of the greatest words you can say to her/him as you melt into their eyes & become one. I hope & wish everyone gets to experience that incredible feeling of oneness. Your heart will thank you.

Why can't anyone come out with a new movie instead of just remaking, and ruining I might add, and old movie. I think it because artist are so consumed with political correctness and social justice bull-crap that it has diminished creativity by taking off all the sharp edges that make it so great.

I have never heard anyone with the purity of voice as the lead singer. He is someone you will never hear the like of again (like Karen Carpenter). Some people are just born with such a fantastic unique style where no-one can ever match them.
Mick Hucknell (Simply red) does do this song justice in his own style,

    [Arrion Love]
    My love
I'll never find the words my love
To tell you how I feel my love
    Mere words could not explain
    Precious love
You held my life within your hands
    Created everything I am
Taught me how to live again
    [Russell Thompkins]
    Only you
Cared when I needed a friend
Believed in me through thick and thin
This song is for you, filled with gratitude and love
    [All]
    God bless you
You make me feel brand new
For God blessed me with you
You make me feel brand new
I sing this song 'cause you
    Make me feel brand new
    [Arrion Love]
    My love
    Whenever I was insecure
You built me up and made me sure
You gave my pride back to me
    Precious friend
With you I'll always have a friend
You're someone who I can depend
To walk a path that sometimes bends
    [Russell Thompkins]
    Without you
Life has no meaning or rhyme
Like notes to a song out of time
How can I repay you for having faith in me
    [All]
    God bless you
You make me feel brand new
For God blessed me with you
You make me feel brand new
I sing this song for you
    You

utterly iconic. One of so so so many many greats from various solo singers through to full blown dance groups. Its just from an era that ozzsed so much quality music, you couldnt possibly quantify or capture because there would always be so much that would be overlooked through sheer time constraints or ignorance etc. It was like being constantly bathed in musical heaven

How I miss these singers. They were always high up in the charts in the 70s - I still have all their old records from back then.

the Stylistics came to my home town Shepparton Victoria when i was 17 9 months old, they stayed at the motor inn Wyndham st, I had my Motor bike a Yamaha 175, I rode around the shop at colliver R.d and a gentleman was in there talking with Sue Bux my dear ole friend, I asked him if he was a basket ball player and Sue laughed and said he was a member of the stylistics, I laughed and and stated yes i am, is that your bike and I said yes, he asked me if i could come around to their motel and teach us how to ride it, well i thought yes sure, so the next day I went across to the Motel and sure enough there they were all the musicians lined up waiting for a ride on my bike, i will never forget how much of a gentlemen they all were i spent the day with them teaching them how to ride with Sue, I remember Zac and Lionel were particularly funny as they rode up and down the street in first gear, the rest of the boys were laughing and enjoying the Bike, at the end of the day their manager gave us tickets in appreciation of allowing the boys to have some fun as it had been some time, cramped up in Hotels can be quite boring. I say thank you for the memories. :)
