I needed this a couple weeks ago 😭 I was alone at a gas station air pump floundering around with literally no clue what I was doing. Ended up with three over-inflated tires and one severely deflated. This helps a lot, next time I'll be more confident! Thank you! 🙏🏻
My own Dad passed some time ago and while my husband is usually around to help, this weekend he was out of town for work and I found myself stranded with a dangerously low tire while taking my son to school. It followed with the very sobering realization that I’ve never had this happen without help before. Thanks so much for this video… I knew I couldn’t call my husband from so many time zones away and while my next thought was to call my Dad (even after he’s been gone 11 years) my very next thought was you and this channel. Thanks again!!!
Even though this content isn’t necessarily aimed toward people like me, it’s still nice to see a community enjoy as a man becomes everyone’s internet dad, teaching us the ways of life as we get older!
I might want to add: Temperature changes changes the tire pressure too thats why you have to check pressures regularly. Also do it before driving. Preferably early morning.
Just follow the tire pressure recommendations. My tires lose ~5psi when cold and gain ~5psi when warm. Regularly check them tire pressure when the temperature changes.@@keliaan
Just moved across the country to a new place and I come from a state where I’m not allowed to pump my own gas and I’ve always gone to a tire shop for air. Thank you so much for this video and for your whole channel. You’re truly an Angel.
What’s indicated on the side of the tire will be the max pressure/load it can take. The inside of the door will always have the optimal pressure/load It clearly states that on the tire right next to where it says it so if anyone does end up putting whatever it says into tires, it’s on them, they’re dumb.
If they’re dumb, your comment is unnecessarily judgmental and makes you sound like the kind of guy desperate to prove how smart he is to nobody in particular.
thank you internet Dad! i felt so alone and lost last night after a long shift at my hospital when my dashboard indicated low tire pressure. but i searched the internet and found your video. tire re-inflated and i feel empowered!! many many thanks!!!
I 100% applaud you for this channel... My dad taught me tool names as a single digit kid and a bunch of things other no 7 year old needs to know. He never showed me how to check my tires or my oil but I can make a head gasket in a pinch... 50 year old me making head gaskets still for other people. Why do I know this? This is not a thing I should know how to do... Like ever. I can make them for cars, trucks, and even tractors
Dad I'm always nervous about connecting the hose to the tire valve. It usually won't fit right and I LOSE air. Can you redo this please and add advice for that?
Hi, Thanks for your excellent tutorials. My Uncle worked at a tyre company. He taught us, that before you replace the cap, if you lick your finger, apply spit to the valve, you can check for leaks, because it will bubble, if your tyre has a slow puncture.
Your instructions are greatly appreciated. Thank you for still posting it for my son to refer to when the indicator cane on as he was new with the car.
My dad bought me a small air compressor that plugs into my cigarette lighter in 1980s. I still have it. It's in my trunk. I've used it to help others too. My dad was auto mechanic, auto body and general contractor.
Holy crow, you have no idea how helpful this is! My actual dad didn't teach us girls ANYTHING. The tire pressure idiot light typically comes on when I'm from far from home and don't know how to find someone to help me. What a horrible feeling it is to know you may be ruining your tires by driving on them when under-inflated.
Also to add, the indicated tyre pressure on the driver side door frame can show differing pressures for front and rear tyres. It can also indicate different recommended pressure depending on the number of passengers in the car. The indicated tyre pressures are for cold tyres - aka tyres that have not been driven on for the past few hours. I typically add 10% to the recommended PSI since I have to drive at least 1km to the nearest petrol station for an air pump, and would thus be pumping into hot tyres.
This one is pretty good. In CA, you get free air at any gas station with purchase. Also, if you are still weary, any auto shop will set you up, and give a few bucks for a tip.
I have never had to make a purchase. Just ask them to turn the air on and they have always done it. Now if it is closed you would need to pay to get it turned on at the air pump. I used to pay until my nephew was with me and said no you dont have to pay. I believe that they cannot refuse to turn it on. And yes, I'm in Sacramento, California.
The only thing I would add, if if you are adding air when the tires are warm after driving, is to add 3 pounds of air to the pressure indicated on the tire sticker. That way, when the tires cool off, they will be at the proper pressure. Sticker pressure is the cold temperature.
This made me cry while my dad was alive I always took forgranted him teaching me things like how a chainsaw works but now I have to watch videos on the internet
Coming from the uk, the air pump there can be set with the right pressure and the air pump would stop at that pressure. It’s my first time yo fill the tires. I am surprised how primitive the Canadian air pumps at the gas stations are. Could it be related to the extreme cold weather here?
I'm so glad I found you! Am I supposed to have that pump? I think I need to buy one, and the digital reader. If I find a station that has a pump do the same thing?
I have a “pancake” air compressor which is good for way more than this. You can get a fairly inexpensive air compressor if you’re only using it to fill up your tires. Gas stations usually provide an air station, but you will usually need to put quarters in it. You should get a digital gauge as it is more accurate than a manual gauge. 👍🏻
Hmm i wanna go ask u a qs that is: How should I buy insurance for myself or buy the money that every adult who has just stepped into society has to bear or pay?

Thats tough!!, well For next time... 😮👍
I always liked service stations where they did everything.

Wow, I’m 67 and still learning…thanks!
I might want to add:
Temperature changes changes the tire pressure too thats why you have to check pressures regularly.
Also do it before driving. Preferably early morning.
So, in hot days, is it recommended to put a little less air in the air, or other precautions? Sorry 'bout my bad English.

DON'T look at the side of the tire, it can say FAR more pressure than the car recommends. Always go based off the door.
What’s indicated on the side of the tire will be the max pressure/load it can take. The inside of the door will always have the optimal pressure/load

I was always asked what my tire pressure was and I didn't know where to find out. Thank you!

You can also get inflator that you can see a psi limit and it will shut off when it reaches your desired psi!
That's what I have. Not that I need help. Been inflating tires for close on 50 years but the automatic inflator is a nice "luxury".
Where can I get one of those? That would be great to have !
Thanks dad
you're awesome dude.
You can also inflate your tires with a bicycle pump, in a pinch, but you definitely need a digital tire gauge in your glove box.
Glad to see you are still out here representing keep up the great work!
Never knew there was some sticker with information 😊

i wish my mom wouldve just told me this instead of "GO DO IT"
I have just brought a car and found this video useful, can I ask where did you buy your tyre pump from ?
Brazil loves you🇧🇷❤️

Awesome and incredibly sad at the same time.

My dad is still alive. He never really taught me anything because, if I didn't get it perfect the first time, he never took the time to try again.
Hey dad, can you please do a video on how to install a TV mount and then mount my TV?

The Tyre Extinguishers
Some places offer free air and the screen shows what the tire pressure is.
Thanks my tires exploded and i died
But you still managed to write this 😲
Hey, Dad, are you able to explain why I’m losing air while pumping?
You may not have the pump pushed all the way on to the tire valve….
Do you need to screw in the tire pump onto the tire or just stick it on there?
Nope, just need to push it on, but you do need to make sure it’s pushed on firmly.
Dust caps always disappear nevermind how carefully you put them to one side. It's a fact.
Is it possible to over-fill a tire?
Yes, you can over fill it, so don’t do that.
Pay attention to the recommended psi and stay close to that.
All the same instructions for a mower tire?
Dad, how do I tell my girlfriend that I have leukemia?
Take her on a date and then do it
Need a channel for
What should I do ? Mom
Sooo why did my tire get flatter when i got air?😢
It could be that you didn’t get the nozzle seated properly on the valve.
Have to say this did not show how to fill nor how to let the air out.
POV im fatherless
I lose air when I try and do this. Wtf
It sounds like you need to push the air hose all the way onto the valve stem. If you don’t, it will let air out of the tire.
golly gee, do people really need this?? hahaha....
I wish someone had a mom how do I. This is so wonderful. 🤍
Thanks dad
Thank you
