Correction: the Chinese have been trading with the Filipinos long before the Spaniards came and decided to claim the territory. The Chinese respected the locals and there was peaceful trading between the locals and the ancient Chinese. These is all in the history books.
@komentarista Maraming salamat po! Noted sa Balut, pero usually by that time naka inom na kami nung mga guests (pang dagdag tapang sa kanila) kaya medyo mabilis na ang pag kain sa Balut, lalo na ung mga takot, minamadali nila just to get it over with hahaha
I enjoy watching your vlog. It is fun and feels like traveling with you. Thank you for sharing. I observed that Filipinos are friendly and hospitable. I am convinced that there is much love in the Philippines.
The best part of the video which i like is the one both of you having a bite of the balut. Most people who tried it have the same reaction so we are proud of you.
If you guys ever have the time, you can try visiting las casas filipinas de acuzar in bagac bataan which is 2 hours away from manila. But if you don't want to travel that far then you can check las casas filipinas de acuzar in quezon city which is the smaller version of the place.
You definitely have found your next big gig! And it’s a family affair! I took notes so when head to head to the Philippines I know where I’m going to stay, what food tour I’m looking up, and what not to eat because really I can’t do the balut…but the rest was fascinating and insightful. 👍🏼👍🏼
Aw, thanks Peggy! Don’t blame you on the balut. 😆 But honestly I think the pig ear was my least fav. Jian gave so much amazing information- 90% of which I wasn’t able to include. We love doing food tours. A great way to learn about both the food and culture.
If you're looking to research more about travel to the Philippines, I have an online Zoom private "class" so to speak, where I can help you with your planning. :)
Great video! 100% would find Jian for a food tour. I always feel a little pang when you’re about to leave a country. And safety wing, i need this for upcoming travels, good to know! And Hays smile when he tasted the gulamon. ☺️
We’ve had a good streak of food guides lately. He was excellent. So informative, but not boring. And yes! We can 100% recommend SafetyWing. We’ve been using it for a year now!
Yes! You definitely deserve another subscriber such as myself since you never spitted anything out even on that Balut. I'm a Fil-Am, born and raised in the U.S. til I was 10. Since then, I've been staying here in the Philippines now for 24 years. I'll be looking forward for you guys to come back some time.
I'm glad you are enjoying the street food in the Philippines. The chicken intestines and balut are the foods that I won't go for but you both are brave for trying...I loved Hays so cute little boy I hope you come back again and explore north of Luzon. Thank you so much for your visit Steph, Pete and Hays you're so down to earth, what a lovely couple I really enjoyed your Philippine series I hope you have had so much fun. Good luck on your next trip to South Korea take care guys xxx ❤️
Wow! Awesome street food vlog. The guide was also awesome for giving appropriate information about the food and bringing you at an appropriate place. That said, I really hope that you guys thoroughly enjoyed your time in the Philippines. Enjoy your trip to Korea ( hopefully, South Korea). 👍🏼❤️🇵🇭🌈🌴🏄♀️🇺🇸
You were right. Mckinley Hill is in Metro Manila, located in Taguig city which is one of the 16 urbanized cities composing Metro Manila. What people meant probably was that you were not in Manila city proper.
Welcome to the Philippines hope you enjoy staying here, many places and beautiful things that you can see and the food is amazing among thus are adobo caldereta Mechado baka or beef enjoy
Picassoooooo!! I love it there. Its under rated but that room is 80sqm! Very very spacious. Its located near salcedo market, wild flour and mendokoro which are famous restos.
Kudos to your guide, he really explains the food well. Usually Jelly or "Jello" is from Seaweed. Deep Fried pork intestine is much better. "Pinapaitan" means to make bitter. Almost all Filipino kids are like your kid, just place the phone infront of them and something to eat and they'll be occupied for as long as the phone has power. lol.
you guys are awesome ,amazing and wonderful . Filipinos love you. Enjoy the philippines and we hope you won't forget the experience and come back to visit us again and as we say It's morec fun in the philippines. God bless.
Great video, family affair. Having your toddler with you adds to the realness…I have two little boys and totally understand and appreciate, especially when he was getting antsy.
Oh my, you were just across my neighborhood in Mandaluyong. I recognized the area immediately. When did you shoot this? Would have been nice to bump into you. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your stay in Pinas.
Yes bile, but in some parts of the Philippines specially here in the Northern part we use the undigest food of the animal, we squeeze it to get the green liqued you can search here in youtube also how Ilocano or igorot make pinapaitan...
Great video. One of the best Filipino street food feature by foreign vloggers I've watched . Your guide was great and informative. You're an awesome family as well. Hays is sooo adorable. More power to you !
Oh thanks finally the end of Philippines 🇵🇭 tour vlog series the ending is so nice … street food 🍱 episode thankz a lot … take care for the next country Korea…
You should come back November to December until new year it’s a lot fun in the Philippines 🇵🇭 you can enjoy your Christmas and new year very good should try and experience the holiday season in the Philippines
Another fantastic video c: You've made sooooooo many food tours lol. One day I will definitely go on a food tour, which I probably would never have done if it weren't for you guys. Though honestly, I have a weak gag reflex. I'd be super super scared of legit throwing up if something seemed really gross to me, even if it was just the idea and it tastes good. ahhh, pray for me when the day comes.
Gosh don't know how I missed this one! We're headed on another food tour this afternoon, actually. Jae, the wonderful guide from here has developed a new one since we left, so it's perfect-- we can introduce him to my parents but not have to repeat a tour!
@@StephandPete That sounds amazing, I really look forward to it! I think I will wait till I buy my big camera before doing a food tour so I can get all that buttery HD food goodness, so maybe the end of the year or early next year. Kelly doesn't like eating on camera so she'll be happy to just be my camera girl for it and eat behind the camera lol. You speak so highly of him that I will almost certainly approach him when the time comes though! c:
Manila or Luzon tricycles are generally small and very low. But in other provinces in the visayas and mindanao tricycles are huge and comfortable. Perhaps it is intended for single passengers.
You want to try a great 'pinoy desert you can do? Mash a ripe avocado (leave some small bits) and mixed w condensed milk, then chill. Promise, you wont get enough of it. And will defenitely ruin your diet if you're trying to trim down. Always ingat on your adventures.
You were so brave trying the balut haha. I'm half filipina living here in the Philippines my whole life but I wouldn't dare trying the balut. I like penoy tho which is also a duck egg but no duck

You are wise for having a tour guide who can narrates while in a tour. Smart move!
We love doing food tours wherever we go! Such good insight to the food and culture.
Congrats on having balut! You're now honorary Filipino citizens! Keep on traveling and stay safe!
lol thanks! And thanks for watching.
I'm still watching you all enjoying the food at the Filipino restaurant
Great video guys! Glad I was able to share a bit of our food culture with you :)
The editing is awesome Steph!

This is a very good vlog, they are not Pinoy baiting because they've got ther tour guide to explain everything. They are not pretending.
I'm glad you enjoyed! That's a nice comment!

Did u guys tried d ube ice cream made from purple sweet potatoes, yummy.
You were very brave eating Balut...even after more than living over 4 years in SE Asia, even I wouldn't even try one. So, well done!!
Thank you! We really weren't planning to, but the opportunity presented itself so...there ya go! Thanks for watching.
i love to see you guys travelling with your little one. it seems he's enjoying to taste foods and drinks as well...
It's so much fun! He's usually pretty adventurous, but often very picky like a normal toddler.
Awesome! It's so nice seeing Jian again
He's a fantastic guide!
Thank you kindly.
