Unused animation footage from The Lost World (1925)

  • Theese faschinating outtakes consists of both deleted shots as well as earlier animation takes of scenes that are in the finished film. Some of the footage appear to have been cut or re-done for technical reasons, such as being underexposed or the animation just not being as dynamic as it should be, or simply because the shots where ultimately not necessary to tell the story as the film came together in the final editing stages. To date, this is the only known project that Willis O'Brien worked on (other than Creation) where any deleted shots or test footage have survived.

    4:30 I remember this scene a lot and I do love the Stegosaurus being shown here.

    I know the restored/extended edition blu-ray has some unused footage/deleted scenes in the extras, is this the same footage? I don't remember there being 9+ minutes of it.
