    I just got this model, wasn't going to do more than the included decals and some paint ... then I bought aztec decals, then new decals, then the deflector wrap, then I went to the art store, then the photoetch for the engines, etc. .... now I see this. I bought this lighting kit. haha. Thanks from California!

    One of the best videos so far, so descriptive, and for a kit that is easily available right now.

    Just about to start my “smoothie” once I get the various upgrade parts I want.
    This build will be invaluable for me.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the video. I've always wanted to light a model but have been a bit intimidated, since I have no experience with wiring and soldering. I have this kit and will be attempting a lit build in the not too distant future and I'll use this video as a guide.

      Take your time with it Cesar, and you will find it's not as difficult as you first thought. One word of advice, do each lighting section away from the already completed saucer, it is so much easier.

    Hi Dan - fantastic video! It's my first time at anything like this and I'm watching this forensically - I'd never have the confidence to approach the lighting without it so thank-you! I have a question, when double securing the soldered cables to the LED strips you use your glue gun - is that a particular type of glue? Many thanks indeed!

    • @dansmodeluniverse
      @dansmodeluniverse  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dave, its a hot glue gun.I always use them to protect the joints. They form a strong bond to a surface, ideal in these cases. the glue rods come with them, usually a very large pack. I got that gun 2 years ago for that model, I still have 3/4 of the pack left.

      The original film, the Enterprise Nav ights are Soft Yellow/Amber and White.
      I have not seen the new 4K versions
      The Reliant in TWOK, the Reliant has one Nav light that is a Pinkish/Red and Amber and White.
      Also, the head model builder for the Refit Motion Picture Enterprise, hated the Red and Green Nav lights of the Original Enterprise and there were no Red and Green aircraft led's available at the time.
      They never changed that until the Generation films because that model already had been lit with the Red and Green for the TV series.

    What’s a refit mean

    • @dansmodeluniverse
      @dansmodeluniverse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After it’s 5-year mission, the Enterprise underwent an 18-month refit and was relaunched in 2271 (The Motion Picture) and began a 2nd 5-year mission under Kirk’s command.
      During the events of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, the ship was destroyed.
      At the end of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Starfleet renamed the USS Ti-Ho (according to Mr. Scott’s Guide to the Enterprise) to 1701-A.
