Addiction is a serious disease and a battle throughout life. No one should be penalized for something so tragic. Comparing someone who is addicted to meth/narcotics to someone who gets paid to sleep with people so they can make a little money on the side of their main job is like comparing apples to oranges.

Mirjana's story is so sad. A beautiful girl with terrible self-esteem issues. During her cycle it was obvious that she had mayor issues with codependecy, she got so distracted by her "relationship" with Denzel (btw a terrible guy that just played with her and was a fuckin' homophobic) that she ended up losing, I really thought she could actually win! So sad, and she went back with her boyfriend, who mistreated her and ended up being her dead sentence, sadly this leaves a message for everyone: never leave someone rule and ruin your life, it's not worth it.

98% of the models that have come across this show didn't have much success in the industry. This show is more about being entertaining to viewers than actually giving the models the skills they need to be successful. The only one I see today is Leila
ashante that is comeplete bullshit, a lot of models have had succesful stories, Ebony is now a well known model, eva the diva had a succesful career and i can count many more.
Leila did make it far, though. She got third place.

Ever since cycle 17, ANTM started to become a joke. It's all about brands, product placements, social medias. Guys and Girls cycles are the worst, it's not about how to survive on the competition anymore but it's all about who sleeping with whom. The best cycle was Cycle 13-16, because it's all about high fashion and having Andre Leon Talley who used to work on Vogue as judges. He's still my favorite judges all the time, because he always giving the fashion feedback on panel and kind to the models. Unlike Nigel Baker who is so sarcastic or Kelly Cutrone who is mean.

Oh wow. I NEVER knew before now that she committed suicide, that's actually quite heartbreaking after recalling everything that she went through and why she really quit.
I had no idea! So sad. Her name is Kimberly Rydzewski, if anyone wants to Google her. I remembered her right when I saw her face. She's the one who said she didn't care about fashion and left the show by choice.
She said in an interview with Tyra that the real reason she quit is that her bf committed suicide. She also stated that her mum also committed suicide when she was a kid so that could very well explain why she might have done the same thing :/

I didn't know that either. It makes me wonder whether top model was really an opportunity for young women to succeed or was actually just a cash cow for Bankable Productions? The reason I say this as Tyra seemed to like finding girls with a 'story'. A number appeared to be victims of abuse, rape or poor childhoods who at the outcome appeared vulnerable. The vulnerable tended to fall apart and fall away. Was ATNM a reality tv show masquarading as an opporunity or a tv show providing girls with a real opportunity to model?

So unfair that Jael Strauss's second chance at life was cut so cruelly short by breast cancer - this dreadful disease has taken far too many women far too soon.
I still feel bad for anglea not winning all stars like they did her wrong, they knew she had other things but still chose her for all stars and then kick her to the curve and say oh your disqualified. Like Anglea was my girl from the start and breaks my heart they did that to her. You can even watch her interview she explains it.

People forget that this is a competition based on winning over a panel of judges based on their subjective and sometimes arbitrary opinions. This is not an olympic sport that employs an objective measure of performance. This idea that someone is more "deserving" or was "robbed" of the win is a pointless argument to make. The judges pick who they think has the most potential and who they want to represent THEIR brand, and that's how it is. You can disagree with their decisions, but no one is entitled to a modeling contract. If Angelea was such a great model, then she shouldn't need the show to succeed. Many of the girls didn't win and went on to have great careers.
