I have just flashed a handful of slim drives using a usbpro2 i have all the modding tools from back in the day and an original usbpro unfortunately not with the camo pattern just black on the bottom i gave that a go on the 4th and 5th drive i did and not a problem at all. Glad this is still helping people! I know the tutorial still works, the hardest parts these days are finding the hardware and staying on Windows 7. Anything higher than Windows 7 I've noticed your mileage may vary for reliability.

On pcb trace cut i recomend cut two lines close to each other and scratch the copper line between them two cuted lines, is easier to interrupt the trace and also is much more reliable... just a point... some peole use a mini drill / grinder if they have one...
i dont remember which dvd rom i have, but i had to make a hole in a chip just like the strp you did cutting out the track. i remember it was hard difficult to understand first what you had to do, especially when you need to retrieve the key. i remember just the same you told, that you had to block it again, inmy case i didnt and works ok till these days.
The prices for these tools have gone up by A LOT! Your looking at an average of $150 - $250 for the Xecuter X360 USB Pro v2 in 2020. I tried buying one from the official site but they are no longer producing them so you have to buy one second hand or through a third party seller. I did manage to find 2 that were legitimate for $89.99 and $99.99 respectively. "Were" being the key word as when I went to buy them, they were both out of stock. You have to be careful as a most of the cheaper ones are scams. Honestly, it's about the same price and in some cases even cheaper to just buy a 360 that comes already modded. Found more than a few legitimate ones that were already flashed, had JTAG/RGH/R-JTAG installed, had visual mods like LED lighting on the case and all needed accessories including the upgraded HHD for around (some even under) $250. If you're planning on modding multiple consoles/or you already own one, get the tool as it's worth it in the long run. However, if you're planning on buying a 360 & modding that one console, just get one that's already been modded as it'll actually come out cheaper. Worst case scenario you end up paying the same amount you would have if you bought the tool and console separately. However, you won't have to go through the hassle of flashing the console and installing all the mods.
my chip says its CUK03070. is this still an mxic? its supposed to be an already unlocked board but it said it was for the dg-16d4s drive which i have and it matches up just different chipset.

I've got one of those as well, haven't used it too much though. Originally got the USB devices because my motherboard didn't play nice with Xbox drives but the ease and compatibility is totally worth it if you're flashing a ton of drives!

After upgrading my motherboard to one that had the supported i7 cpu slot, i discovered the sata wasnt compatible with xbox360 drives... not even linux helped. really though using the console to supply the power was easy but such a drag... earthing was priority back then :D So, i bought the Xecuter X360 USB Pro 2 and wow, it made it so easy.
Does anyone know what to do if your Drive doesn’t enter Vendor mode?? He never explained this. I haven’t been able to Slim Unlock the drive like he does I keep getting the error message saying it won’t enter vendor mode...
I've tried this mutltiple times and I just can't get it to work. I can do slimkey and I'll get all the data that I need. I've cut the trace and went back to junglesflasher. Whenever I try to do the "intro/device ID", it comes up with a failed message and tells me to quickly turn the drive on and off. I do exactly that and I can only get it from switching between 0x51 and 0xD0...Does anyone know how to get it to 0x72?

Can i do this by just connecting the disc drive to the Motherboard SATA Port only without special flasher? I'm not able to find any flasher online, and the ones that i found are very expensive.
i know this is an old video but i have a hitachi 0502 (DLN10N) dvd drive how do i flash this drive....ive looked online but nobody has mentioned anything about these drives past 2012 can you help me please
I've never worked on one of those, but you would need to RGH the console to get the key, then flash that to an unlocked board and install the board into the drive.
@MrMario2011 I have my DVD key # already extracted through an RGH chip soldered in, but I have a Liteon DVD 16d5s with firmware 1532. I know I have to buy the ltu2 unlocked board. Will the steps still work as you show in your video to flash the ltu2 unlocked board? Thanks.
@@MrMario2011 I managed to probe the point with the probe 3, the only difference is that I had to hold a resistor on the point, then probe the other end of the resistor.

All identified from the MEDIATEK chip. If you're using one of those LTU2 unlocked boards, this tutorial is not for that.

You won't be able to do that, sadly. You will have to RGH your console and extract the DVD key that way.

You can try, sure. Be sure to use the SATA0 port.

No need to hard unlock it as you're buying an unlocked board. You should be able to just unlock, write, then lock once you have firmware built.
Can I still flash this with a Probe3? I don't have a Sputnik360 Probe.
Sadly nope, the Sputnik 360 has resistor values on it which the Probe 3 doesn't.
