I know the pain all to well. I'm a man of almost 27 and am in tears after watching this. I have dealt with CF with family and I am diagnosed with Lupus, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and PTSD. I can't do normal things anymore and Lupus is tearing me apart. My relationship is suffering because of all of my health problems. I usually don't open up on TH-cam but damn, that really struck a nerve. Jarvis Landry is awesome. Much love everyone. Keep up the good fight!

CF is what took my uncle at 33, he was only 8 yrs older than me, he was my big brother...I married a man that CF in his genes as well...we had too take genetic testing and education with our pregnancies...thank God that we had 4 healthy children!! I watched my Gramma beat on his back daily to break down mucous
..he had partial lungs at the end...he took hundreds of meds just to be here...we still donate to the foundation and there's a country western benefit every year thru the Elks club in west palm beach in his name...will keep fighting for that cure!!! Btw...my grandparents team was of course the dolphins!! It's rare to hear talk of CF, so I had to comment. Bless her heart, my Gramma licked each of my baby's foreheads when we brought them home...as CF patients taste salty...she had to confirm it herself!!

My cousin died from CF when he was 16...I was much younger but I remember my aunt and uncle pounding on his back to help loosen the mucus...so sad..

Be sure to encourage anyone of childbearing year to be genetically tested. Screening is the only form of prevention. There are fertility options for CF carriers and in some countries (like Canada) we hope these treatments will be covered under healthcare.

This has been tough for me to watch. I lost my younger sister to CF when she was 16 on June 2, 1991. I was only 18 at the time, and had graduated high school the week before. She insisted on being there, got dressed and ready in the hospital room, attended the graduation in a wheelchair with her oxygen tank. We took pictures afterwards, the last photos we have of her. CF is a horrible genetic disease, and it takes one tough human being to live and excel with it, just like the young lady here, and my Laurie.
