I have an 878UVii Plus but am fairly far from local stations, so I’m going to try out a Motorola XTL5000 VHF 50w mobile.

It sounds like you're making a great move by upgrading to the Motorola XTL5000 VHF 50w mobile. With that added power and range, you'll likely notice a big improvement in reaching those distant stations! The 878UVii Plus is a solid handheld, but having a mobile unit with more output should definitely help in your situation. Best of luck with the setup, and I’d love to hear how it works out for you!

Aloha Michael. I have the new digirig, and cables. I went to driver download site Silabs and viewed 10 downloads. Which one of those, 10 downloads should I use?

Interesting that I can’t get my 878 to transmit. If I hook up FT3 it works fine. Wonder what setting in the 878 needs to be changed.
