Yep that’s what happens when every meat is unaffordable. Chicken is the only affordable meat therefore more people will buy it . Especially if they have more than one mouth to feed. I can’t even afford a weeks worth of food for myself cause prices are so damn high and i live alone. One small pack of chicken breasts at Walmart is 7$ which is still pretty damn high but not as high as everything else. If it’s cheaper more people will buy it which is why we are at a shortage crisis. Its how business works. Which is also why people mainly buy processed foods because its the only food we can afford. The pricey foods are only eaten on special occasions . Groceries now are more expensive than they’ve ever been . It’s absolutely ridiculous.
If you have a few chickens left....don't kill it, breed it and if it makes babies, breed them and once they turn to adults.....breed them more and then you can make chicken

Tons of them around if you look. Gardein, Alpha Meats, etc make great alternatives to Chicken Haven't had a hard time finding those at all. The New Gardein Chicken Tenders are the bomb and they taste and have the same texture as chicken. Can't even tell a difference. Plus their 'chicken' didn't sit in it's our piss and shit for weeks before it was 'humanly slaughtered' aka Murdered to turn it into your Nuggs or other chicken products. So its a win win for everyone . And you won't be putting chicken shit and piss in your mouth anymore. I love the plant based versions and never going back to piss infested chicken I used to eat. Guaranteed piss free :)

I feel you. That's what's great about the plant based meats out there. Just like meat based foods, some are great and some are not. Depends on what you individually like. Just like some people love McDonalds whiles others hate it and prefer Wendy's. Plant based has multiple options and you are sure to find one you like. So you can find something you like and eat safe, clean and delicious for you. For the record though the NEW Gardein Tenders are in a larger bag and are not their old ones which were just okay. We had the NEW tenders last night and they were so convincing dog thought it was real chicken and begged for them. so if he thinks it's chicken that's good enough for me. He loved them too :) And the smell was so much like baking chicken my neighbor came over to find out what recipe I was using on my 'Chicken'. LOL So it was good enough to bring in the neighbor. so try them you might like them. I found mine at Smith's Food. But likely you can find them at Wholefoods or Sprouts.

I make my own and my family and neighbors and co workers have all been fooled by them. My Dog even thinks they are real. Times are changing and even Steak that is the same texture and taste are being developed. Basically these companies have hired chemists and biologists to break down what foods these animals eat that actually turns into their muscle proteins. And now they are taking those foods and making the 'meat' without the animal. Using the same plant proteins the animals use to make their flesh. Basically replicating nature without using animals bodies to do it. By passing the animal all together. Why eat the animal when you can eat the food directly without hormones, contaminants, feces, urine, and all the stuff that comes along with animal protein? So now they are mostly in the perfection stage where they are getting the ratios just right and then the texture and taste will be almost indistinguishable. Should all be going into mass production in the next year and then it's the end for meat at that point.
The international grocery stores around me have plenty of chicken wings. Regular and halal. The organic markets near me like Trader Joe’s have plenty too. No price hikes at all though organic chicken wings are already expensive.
