Well, the problem is the dark hearted younger generations. They want everything like Batman, dark, grim, and gritty. They are whining about the new Thor movie not being dark and serious enough. They don't get it, some people like their heroes like the classic comics, lighthearted, goody, goody, wholesome individuals.
@@jonathancummings6400 actually no. The costume designers felt that the bright colours look too cartoonish, so made the switch to darker colours to give the heroes a more serious look, for the adults.
Yes, made my point entirely. For which adults? Older ones like myself who love the classic look? No. for the younger ones who only like dark depressing things. The whole Man of Steel movie diverges from proper Superman behavior. Neither it, nor Batman vs Superman, nor Justice League, nor the Flash movies were ever going to be gigantic, Marvel style, billion dollar grossing movies, they are dark and terrible. DC characters are supposed to be "Superfriends", they are supposed to be lighter and sillier than Marvel. For example, Batman would fit right in with Daredevil and Kingpin and Luke Cage and the Punisher, they are just as dark, grim and gritty as he is, and outside of Daredevil, are willing to kill like Injustice Superman. An example, when it was clear destroying the ship would be the end of Krypton after he had destroyed the Worldengine, so the threat to Earth was gone, and Zod was panicking, he wouldn't have answered, "Krypton had it's chance" and commit genocide which is what he did, he would have made a deal, Zod and the remaining Kryptonians stand down, and he won't destroy the ship and will help them relocate somewhere else. Like Captain Marvel did for the Skrulls. When Superman did that horrible action, I knew DC was going to fail ultimately, they were trying to take the characters where they aren't supposed to go.@@merilwen
amen to that. Could you imagine this wizard being in charge of the effects and re-editing? The film would go from a mediocre Superman movie to a possible great one.
You honor the memory of Christopher Reeve by giving his final performance as Superman a fitting finish. The story is the story; that can't be changed much. But making the changes to create a better fit to what Richard Donner started...kudos!!👍🌟👏🏆
Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend for the last days xD
Nice work! I half expected Clark’s response to Perry’s “You’re late, kid” to be “Sorry Mr. White, I had to catch a train.” But then again, Chris always played him sincerely.
I want to personally thank you for doing what warner/ canon failed to do... fixing superman iv to such an extent that if christopher reeve were still around, he would finally be proud of this movie
This is incredible!!! Really!!! What an improvement and so close to the original vision. As a big fan of IV, this really got me smiling. Thank you so much for putting in all your efforts and talent into upgrading this scene and looking so faithful to the style of IV as well. I love how expanded the subway looks and the little touches that really makes this scene a vast improvement. I hope the huge Superman fans, especially Martin Lakin, Jay Towers and Jim Bowers, manage to see this. This certainly deserves more views. ⭐👍🥰
I have been following Dharmes’ Superman Cinema since 1996. Seen many remaster videos. This one is the one I have been dreaming of. WB should seriously hire this person, give him access to all the extra Reeve footage, and let the person remaster all Superman movies.
What an improvement. The way it should be. The action & quality. I hope they'll be a Director's cut DVD release which all the Superman movies deserve. None of them had any anniversary releases. I'm sure they'll be more upcoming releases.
Amazing job! I'm blown away by the seamless work you did remastering that scene. As a subway-loving Superman fan growing up in NYC in the 90s, I would have lost my mind over that version of the scene as a kid.
This is awesome. WB should really get you to do a director's cut. Christopher reeves will always be superman. They deserve to be part of the DC multiverse and be restored, effects added if needed
These edits are awesome! Superman IV was always a "what could have been" movie for me. I always liked the basic theme of Superman wrestling with his conscience as to whether or not he should interfere or allow us to destroy ourselves in a nuclear war but the lack of budget really hurt it. I also liked that they made Superman an international hero, that he belonged to the world and not just the U.S.... This film deserves a "Special Upgraded edition" cut
Awesome job, my friend. I’m a NYer and i have to say I’m impressed with the way u made it like an actual NY train station, bravo and you picked Christopher street station where all this occurs, nice touch🤘🏼
Awesome and emotive Work, my Dear Aprice. Christopher Reeve, would be Proud of your Amazing Work. Thanks a lot for this Present. We are waiting for you in The Shadows World. Come, Listen us, Enjoy, Headphones and get you Caught. Health, Success and Madnness. Your Friend Ignatius Ócaltur_The Shadowwalker
Top tier editing that fixes my biggest problem with this scene. Always kind of bugged me that they were just plastering New York esque signage on what is obviously Aldwych tube station on a weekend and a tube train they didnt bother to repaint as it stills sports its London Underground paint job. It's laughable that they were trying to sell this distinctly British setting as some bustling American Metropolis.
This is amazing. Great edit and use of flying shots of Reeve. This movie had so much potential. The studio dumping the flying reshoots and those poor green screen effects really tank the overall film. Of course some script issues too, but there is something here for sure. Just needed more work.
FANTASTIC! Man, I would give almost anything for a fully expanded, updated Superman IV, with all the deleted scenes and that wonderful score re-integrated... This is just torture, because you show what it *could* be, if only they'd give it the effort!
I am from Brazil, and I met this character when I was 4 years old, in 1997, I always preferred the films with Christopher Reeve, and now I start to think that this 4th film has salvation. Congratulations.
I didn't know how you were going to improve this scene before I started it but wow! It's the small things that when added up, produce the biggest difference. The fans who know the movies will figure out what you did but even we see them as fresh and new. Great job!!!
Fantastic updates to this scene, let's hope (with our fingers crossed) that Warner Bros. Pictures picked this up and improved Superman IV as it Cannon films should have been.
LOVE IT! This is seriously amazing! Love it all but the bit where he begins to hold it - you can literally feel being forced back yourself along with the people inside. Absolutely brilliant!!
As much as I have a soft spot for Superman IV, the way you've done this is miles better than what we got. Bravo 👏👏 I can't wait to see the completed project
You need to add a link to the original scene in the description. People need to see the original to comprehend what you've done here. I haven't seen the movie in well over a decade. I watched your version first after reading an article, and I thought, not bad. Then I found the original on you tube and was blown away by what you did. You not only salvaged the scene, you fixed the biggest issue, the location. You completely rebuilt metropolis. The quality of improvement is amazing. After reading the article I felt this movie was unsalvagable, now I really don't know. You've definitely earned the right to try.
INCREDIBLE WORK IN TRUTH YOU ARE THE BEST BOTH ACTOR AND EDITION THE TRUTH I WANT YOUR PROJECT TO BE A COMPLETE REMASTERIZATION OF THE WHOLE FILM AND ENCOURAGES AND BLESSINGS FOR YOU 😁👍🏻
Loving how this project is coming along for you. It's great to see this film in a new and exciting light. Though I bet it'll be tricky come the flying sequence with Lois and battle against Nuclear Man XD. Keep up the great work!
Nice job! As a huge Superman I/II fan and growing up with those movies, I could immediately spot all the changes you made. Great work with what you had to work with!
this sequence in the original movie is like the first of many disappointments to come.. because he just steps on the subway rails and the whole thing stops. Fantastic job with the scene selection and rotoscope my friend.
Perfectly done again mate, great attention to detail with the train and everything 💯🦸🏻👍🏻 they should fix this film like you just did here, and put this out in theaters.
This is a masterpiece. You should be given the job to remaster 1, 2, and 3. Especially all the blue-screens could use your fantastic rotoscoping and recompositing skills. Notwithstanding your impeccable sense of pacing. Well done ! WB : hear me out and hire this person.
This is amazing. Gave me goosebumps like I was watching a new christopher reeves Superman movie. A lot of heart was put into this. I hope you finish the whole movie but if not, amazing amazing work sir
Congratulations! I did a underground upgrade also a year ago but you my friend are light years ahead of me. My respects. Wish I could add that to my version of Superman 4
I love that you are putting in the effort to get the FX cleaned up. It's just unfortunate that the actors really phoned in their performances. You can just tell it in their eyes in most of the scenes.
Good use of the clip from Superman 3 there when evil superman straightens Piza. I’ve often thought S4 was underrated. With a bigger budget and more thought through plot it could have been an even better sequel.
Man, I would KILL to see bright and vibrant colors like that in a Superman movie again!
Yeah, that was a bad move to darken the costume.
James Gunn might just give it to us

Okay. I want the full movie now.
Somebody needs to get hold of the full cut of the movie and hire you to redo the effects sequences!
correct
Absolutely. This is almost unbelievable to watch.
Wow this is beautiful. Beautiful remastered quality.

I think that line would have worked. With Reeve's delivery, it could have come off as sincere and funny. He had a unique balance with character.

Reeve.
Epic stuff. It really is like retroactively increasing the movie's budget.
Ironically using technology that cost a lot less than even the reduced budget that Cannon gave it.
Exactly. With passion and modern technology, it's like the budget was increased by several million just in this 2 two minute scene. Very impressed.

That was still one of the most unconvincing heart-attacks on film.
I like the quick cameo. Good job, man!
