Characters that are jerks can still be likable, if they are written properly. There are many characters that really aren't the kindest people, and can be jerks at times. But overall are still likable and enjoyable to watch. Some examples include: Alvin from Alvin and the chipmunks. Alvin can be a bit of a jerk to his friends and family, he isn’t always the kindest. He takes advantage of theodore constantly. But he is still a likable character. Another example is Lynn Loud Jr. from The Loud House. She is extremely competitive and isn’t always the kindest to her brother, Lincoln. She will not hesitate to push her family around, and gloat in their faces. But she still genuinely cares about her family, and does have a softer side. And finally a character that I have personally created for my book I'm working on: Avery. Avery almost always acts tough and strong, she can sometimes come across as mean or a jerk but doesn't intend any harm. She usually speaks her mind and won't hesitate to stand up for herself or others. She does have a soft side that she doesn't reveal often to people who dont know her as well. She does have a secret crush that only her closest friends know about.

Lisa no!” SILLY SIMON: “What! a phenomenon that happens all the time in basically every civilised country that a mortal 10 year old would have no way of controlling one way or the other! Henry’s Dad makes me think of Jesse Katsopolis from “Full House”, Dave Seville from “ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks”, Mr. Bolhofner from “The Loud House”, Benson from “Regular Show”, Howard Generic from “Bobby’s World”, Homer Simpson, and Chris Potter, John Nitti, David Weinstein, Frank Minyon, Keith Peterfreund, and David Miller from “Supernanny” because they’re all hot heads.
But at least most of those characters are still likable, (I can't speak for all of them since I haven't seen all of those shows,) characters that are jerks can still be likable if they are written properly

Peter can be a villain at times but don't forget the pressure on "perfect" children as say that you need everything to be perfect or else you get called out
My dad did blame me for getting bullied. He somehow created a delusion that I somehow was a bully. He protected my bully from retaliation and took his word over mine when i told him that he was bullying me

I feel like 59 Million Megawatts of energy conservation is worth banning Henry from electronics tbh, that's literally over double the entire global electrical grid for 2022. Obviously yes, this is a cartoon and that number is a joke, but Henry's life is so bad that I have to find humour somewhere.
