  • Chris continues to improve the destination food plot. He has decided to plant fruit trees. This combination of food, cover and just raw attraction power could be nothing short of Epic.

As your trees get bigger your probably going to need to add a little hight to the fence.
They eat any green leaf they can get 😆
Also I would trim off all the lower branches to promote a natural brows line in a few years and get as much vertical growth.
I planted 63 apple trees and there are some things I wish I would have known the first year or two

Great video guys! We just got a small farm (deer camp) for the family and doing the food plots and fruit trees and creating mineral spots for the deer. I need more people like you making tutorials on small farm deer hunting! I have to replant some fruit trees this spring due to the drought I believe, I have a means of watering them this year so hopefully it works out. Keep the videos coming! Woo Pig Sooie!

We both frost seeded it in late winter. Then sprayed Semazine right before spring green up to slow weed growth. However you can also plant when the soil temps reach 60 degrees in April. The key is to get it on open soil and control weeds the first year and then it usually takes over.

@@camofamilyoutdoors ok thanks. I plan on frost seeding next spring really early when the snow still on the ground. Do u ever plant lab lab or cow peas down there in Arkansas?

Yes peas in the fall for us is a huge attraction. Only problem is the deer wipe them out quick. Planning to mix, winter wheat, Rye and peas for our fall plantings the season. It can’t get here fast enough. Good luck to you!
