Planting Buckwheat as a cover crop
We decide to try Buckwheat as a cover crop. We drilled it directly into our existing cereal rye cover crop. Then we followed up with the crimper to ensure crop termination. Time will tell on how successful this planting will be.

.great video..i started using that seed for a screen..do a follow up video once it's matured..splitting the food plots is a must ..besides the bucks having to come out to see whats in em..keeps doe family groups happier..where you've got food/cover you've got does..during hunting season ,you've got does ,you'll have bucks

@camofamilyoutdoors I just put my egyptian wheat down in SE Michigan, and we have 98% chance of rain this evening. I needed to confirm a few things, and your video answered all of my questions.
Man those plots are gonna look awesome. that 3ft drill is the perfect size for plots yall have any complaints about it?
It’s a slower process but big results we hope.
Get you a first week of August radish plot planted for those early bucks...
Our problem is we are usually so hot and dry then. Past few years we didn’t get to plant until almost October. Hoping better this season.
@@camofamilyoutdoors catch an early August Rain and the no till method you guys are doing will help.. Thats been the only reason I have been able to have fall plots the last 3 years.. No till. First week of August is usually good for a good rain. Good luck!

I reached out to Ph-outdoors and as long as you have the lifting capacity at 24” on your 3 point you will be fine. I have a nh1720 that’s 28hp with 1750lbs of lift and I am going to try a G3
You wouldn't want anything with less than #1500 of 3 point capacity at 24".
@@scotwolf9280 I still have some concern about not having enough horsepower pulling a drill with that kind of weight through any dirt
@@StevenPfeiffer I think you'd be fine. Low gear and slow. Drills really don't take a lot of hp to pull. It takes way more HP to pull a 5 1/2' disc than pulling a drill.
Big rock trees still have silky willow cuttings available. Deer will eat hybrid willows to the dirt so protect those for a couple years.

How high are your panels? I was thinking about going with 4ft ones but after watching that pig jump I'm thinking I may need some that are higher
Yeah 4ft I think
Use five ft panels. Large pigs can get over four ft panels easily. They don't just jump, they climb.
This worked for me at first. Then they figured out how to lift the door and completely bend it to bits. Time to combine some ideas bc these porkers aren’t going to win!

As a bow hunter from Alberta, Canada I can say the best hunting is always in colder weather! Hunting in -20 Celsius can be tough if I’m sitting still.

I dont know im a southern boy. I let my little dog walk on it. I couldnt bust through it with a rock. Proceeds to walk on it and consider it good. If only he had a cutting insturment with him to check the thickness....lol Just giving you a hard time. It was just funny listening to you justify walking on it.

Food plots are a total game changer if you ask me. If you own land you hunt on and do not have a food plot, you are making a huge mistake. I started food plotting 10-11 years ago and it was an immediate difference maker. I wish I had started 10 years earlier.

Easiest I've seen is the "Pig Brig". Totally passive. No doors, gates, etc. Lightweight setup.
