Merry Christmas. Southern could of ordered new trains similar to the Thameslink Class 700 to replace the Class 455 used on the suburban services in South London.

This is random, but I do feel like on third rail these 12 car sets need more power they are very slow. They are lighter and efficient enough to likely have the same relitive power as an 8 car unit and not overload the Infrustructure. Even the 10 car 707 (two cars off of 12 ) are capable of maintaining the same acceleration as 5 car 707s. But the same was not applied to the 700s at 12 cars long only two cars longer than the 707s. 707s are likely the only 100mph multiple unit train that doesent get capped when paired with another set. Which is interesting. Again 700s probably have the same level of power potential at 12 cars as they are only 2 cars longer. But its its interesting how they are capped like an electrostar which is kind of wack!!
