    I used to think Electrostars were hideous ol' yokes but I think they've grown on me -- good video!

      There is far worse rolling stock types now! The original 377s are one of my favourites. Thanks for your kind comments 👍🏻

      One of my routes was recently changed from a 700 to a 387, an upgrade IMO!

    The noise of the track (or whatever is) is so satisfying.
    The bounce of the trains at the other side of the platform is insane, looks rough!

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It certainly is a great sound! The grinding and clicking (like at 11:28 ) is the third rail shoe impacting the third rail as a new section starts. You can see the sparks when this occurs. As for the rough ride, I believe the whole of this line is quite rough 😃 Thanks iiComment13

    Great video! I suggest filming at Eastleigh on the SWML as there are many passenger trains there, including class 158, 159, 220, 221, 444 (which I rarely see on your channel), 450, some of them at speed (100mph) and a lot of freight trains

    I’m an Aussie and i have never seen so frequent amount of trains in my life. You could literally see 2 trains on the same track. Was it morning peak or something? Nice video :)

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello Ovallino, there was a little bit of downtime between clips but there was something every 5 minutes (at least). This wasn't even peak time and it perfectly explains why delays can be so painful for other services. Thanks for watching 👍

    • @grassytramtracks
      @grassytramtracks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The regular off-peak service at Wivelsfield is a southern service once every half an hour to London Victoria one way and to Eastbourne (every other train continuing to Ore) and separately a Thameslink train every half an hour between Brighton and Bedford through the Thameslink core. Plus, there are 4 more trains an hour each way that express through, so 16 trains pass through per hour, averaging one every 4 minutes thereabouts. It's at the junction between the mainline to Brighton and the line to Lewes, Eastbourne and Hastings, so that's why it's such a busy line

    • @FabianEason
      @FabianEason ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grassytramtracks I think at the time the Eastbourne service was at half hourly intervals, alternates continuing to Ore. So that makes 9 each direction. 4 TL to Brighton, 2 SN to Brighton, 2 SN to Eastbourne, 1 SN to Littlehampton. Plus there's the additional ECS and freight moves of course

    Since the Class 455 and Class 313 are gone. Southern have enough trains to cover their network including Class 377 Electrostars and Class 171 Turbostars. And Thameslink Class 700 that operates to & from Brighton.

      its a lovely peaceful station in the countryside, ideal for distance videoing. You can see both stations on either side (Haywards Heath through the tunnel!) Only dis-advantage is the lack of a shop but thats not always a bad thing!

    Here's a video idea for next year, april specifically. Maybe make a 10 - 15 min long vid of trainspotting at...... none other than llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Oh, and maybe the full name would do for April fools purposes.
