    I know the video cuts out at the end and im sorry, My complaints were the thumb studs are a bit pointy, I think its a bit over priced in todays market even though its a great knife, the finish shows scratches fairly easily. Other than that its an incredibly well built knife with great tolerance and I wish I could afford one because I do love it. Sorry for the ending cutting out ✌

    Bought my first sebenza in 1995, I've spent 30,000 dollars on knives since trying to find a better knife, bought every so called new and better brand advertised, shirogorov, Hinderer, curtis, strider, custom hand made mid techs, I've bought them all. Never sold any still have them all. Recently got the 31 with box elder inlay. Still have the one I bought in 95, starting to wonder why I ever bought anything else , it's still the best for the money I've ever purchased. I enjoy them all but none are built like a Chris Reeve. Absolute tanks. I've met Chris, he's a no nonsense man, that builds no nonsense knives.

    Thanks for the great review! A Sebenza was one of my grail knives for years, finally bought a small left-handed Sebenza 31 recently and so far it lived up to all my expectations... it takes a while to break in, but apart from that: excellent fit&finish, a solid feel like no other knife I own, gorgeous blade shape, and I could go on and on... so saving up for a large Sebenza 31 now 😏

    I just got my first CRK today, a large sebenza 31 tanto. I was worried it would be too big but its not at all. I wear medium sized gloves, my hands are not big: Why do people think this is a big knife? What surprised me about the design is it seems to fall into my hand in perfect position automatically, I don't have to adjust it in my hand. I'm not a knife guy, so there's not much I know. I was military but the closest I got to danger was burning my finger on a hot dinner roll in the chow hall. But getting back to the knife, its super high quality. I'm going to be buttering a lot of pop tarts with this thing.

    Great quick review. I understand and loved your wifes point of view and expressions. The large Sebenza will always have a special place in my knife crazy heart, but in todays modern times there are many knives with built quiality and tolerances that are mind blowing. It used to be hard to name 20 knives that were all quality built with good material let alone smooth as glass and great style, today there are new "drops" weekly and incredible builds that will last a lifetime regulary. I'm just happy for everyone as there are knives for any budget be it $50 or $500 that simply could not have been built so 20 years ago, in todays CNC world there are so many knives that will make anyone happy and last a lifetime if cared for it is an amazing time to be a knife lover. Again Great Review Neeves Knives Team! (tried to edit some of the grammer).

It has a smoother action then a Sebenza but the same kinda hydraulic feel but is more flickable and fun to open and close... I sold a huge part of my collection or would offer to send one for you to review. Also have you had any Jake Hobacks on the channel? the kwaiken and A8 are also a must try, they are just unreal smooth and have a fell all there own IMO... again im new to your channel so sorry if you already reviewed these suggestions.

      @@NeevesKnives You're welcome, after watching some of your videos I was trying to think of some knives that you and the wife would enjoy, I for sure would try to get a VECP I think both of you would love. I love a great thumb stud knife so was going over some of my current of past knives thinking of ones for you to try for sure a VECP, also a cool one is Southern Grind Spider monkey. While your channel is growing and you both have a great attitude I think reviewing every knife old or new will still get watched. I'm going to make a list of knives that I have owned of still own that I think both of you may like and that would be easy to get a loaner, like I said I sold almost all my super high end knives as I found that after I ammased a insane collection I really only reached for a few knives to actually use and carry so slowly and painfully sold the collection. Anyways great channel and love to see you chat with everyone till you channel gets to big to keep up! I say review them all even if they've been done a 100 times as many of us are watching just to see your "team" and a fresh take and how much you appreciate this and it's kinda like watching myself react to a new knife so imagine other gets a kick out of your unique reactions as well.

    Great review, Jared. All in all I am pretty pleased with the Sebenza 31. Truth be told, I have never held a 21 so I can't speak to the incremental improvements. The sad thing for me is that I can really only carry her once or twice a week because of the size. I have to navigate a maze of municipalities with 3" and sub 3" blade limits. And as I prefer larger knives, the is a lot of competition for very limited pocket time.

    People who get them and use them know. People who get them and put them in a big knife case and pull them out to play with them don't. This is not a fidget knife (for most). It's not on bearings, they are not flippers, they are not drop-shutty, but they never were meant to be, this was built as a tool. They are expensive but good tools are. You don't need M390 or M4 in a working knife b/c most can't properly sharpen them. Again, most to get those steels get them and just flick them, not all but most. S35VN is a working steel that is hard use but simple to touch-up. There IS much hype as it was the original mid-tech and they have won so may awards. How many other companies have a spa for their knives? Not just sharpening, but full rebuilds, re-blast, etc? You can buy one, use the heck out of it and resell it for $50 - $75 less than you bought it. They aren't for everyone, and that is fine. I prefer quality over quantity, but different strokes for different folks. I'd be fine with a big/small 21/Inkosi/31 and Para2/3 for all my needs. And I've tired LOTs of knives.

    • @NeevesKnives
      @NeevesKnives  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a video on that subject, not sure if thats what you were referring to with the different strokes, but i agree with everything you said about the Sebenza, and i got into it a bit with someone over the Sebenza being a working mans knife they dissageed but hey what can you do

      @@NeevesKnives I didn't see that video but will check it out. Working my way through your video catalog. Yeah, I get that. I find knives and many other things to be art as well as tools. Some like to hang things on walls or tuck them in protective sleeves. I'm a user, but doesn't mean we can't take care of them also, right!. I think many would be surprised how hard you can use a knife (or any other tool for that matter) and see how little wear it takes on, IF it's a quality product. Just got a Sebenza 31 large from an authorized dealer and it’s an utter disappointment! Screws backing out, horrible thumb stud, overcame lock stick after opening it 5K times but it’s still painful to open with one hand, lanyard getting cut by the knife when closed...ABSOLUTE GARBAGE considering I paid $580 for the micarta inlay one. Now I have to get rid of this piece of shit. FUCK CRK.

      You should have sent it in rt away and had the company go over it, sometimes people return knives and then they are re sold, but it sounds like it needed lock tight from someone taking it apart and not re applying, for 20$ knife modders will fix that for you noproblem by carbadizing the lock face, b UT I've handled a few at this point, and one wasn't as good as the others, so I know what you mean, my wood inlay 21 is as smooth as a sebenza can get super solid I love it
