Nobody wants to work or go through any struggle. Everyone here wants it easy and free. And our troubled kids are going to be our future criminals or bums. With the US and Russia population rising we both need more places like this. Especially for our children who dont have their parents.
God bless the teachers and caretakers! It's hard to overcome feeling unwanted in childhood and very easy to lose your way without guidance and love. I sincerely hope these kids are able to break out of what is a very vicious cycle
Here in Brazil there's an institution named FEBEM. It could be roughly translated as Underaged Welfare Foundation. However, it's considered a crime school. For me, the fundamental point for what happens in Russia, and it could happen anywhere, is governmental willing. I hear bad and good things about Putin, but this school is everything we could have ever dreamed of for young offenders in Brazil.
Apart from the high fence and the TV, it's how my old school used to look like back in early 80's. Teaching discipline is one thing Russian schools are good at. In this documentary, I was much impressed by the teachers' dedication -- that's also fairly common, especially considering the background of these kids. Nice work, @DW!
I was in a same school like this in India! The school is 99% same and the punishments are harsh beatings as well! All my life I thought we took that way from Britishers 😂
Something to be said about schools with structure discipline and rewarding those who achieve their own aims and goals and excel. Need more of them around the world.
It's possible they practice corporal punishment when cameras are not running. If it is applied with moderation and fairness, I have no objection. In such an environment a few well placed swats might be necessary to maintain discipline. They seem quite humane; but this is Soviet era Russia.
Charlie ZzZ I agree. Also the knitting. I just hope the Russian military doesn’t tease the recruits that are coming from that school about the knitting.
@@whathell6t have you ever tried to knit? I tried it in a centre that I went to it’s really difficult I got all sweaty from doing that as it was such a challenge
Incredibly clean, well-run school with excellence facilities and the students are obviously well cared for and not treated like criminals. Not sure if the allegation that they are not being trained to be critical thinkers is true -- they have drama classes and teach the kids to knit and have foreign language instruction. Furthermore, most American public schools offer little in the way of a decent education -- most classes are just useless busywork and teachers rarely have passion for their subject.
I need to know the name of this place. I would love to dedicate my life to help out 1, 2, or 3 of these children, youngsters and guide them through life. Seriously, it would be amazing.

How in the USA you need to be a criminal just to survive? That is a baloney. So this claim that you need to be a criminal to survive came from criminals themselves.

I was hesitant in clicking the video at first, thinking it would be another propaganda video against the Putin regime. I thought it would show how these kids were being torutred or psychologically manipulated, but I saw nothing of that. Good job on the part of the government in genuinely trying to make a better life for these kids. I hope the Philippines can do something similar as well
Fun fact. This type of re-education was first implemented in 1920s by ChK, the predecessor of NKVD and KGB. They literally collected homeless and orphan kids from the streets and sent them to these facilities. Many of those youngsters later became army officers, scientists, engineers and just ordinary people.
i honestly have so much respect for this school. i was expelled at the age of 13 and sent to a very tiny school for expelled kids, it was underfunded and kind of just felt like a daycare. at this school, I was so severely harassed mentally, physically, emotionally that when I left 6 months later I was diagnosed with PTSD from what had happened to me there. the staff watched me get harassed by other students and just sat there without doing anything.
So glad I came across this. Wish more countries would take this approach with young people. Throwing a child into prison is not going to help the child but make things worse. Bless this program!

Because schools in the usa run for profits
Really? The whole thing looks like the 70s' to me.
from the us i agree
I’m in a public school, and the education is fantastic. It depends on the state, the type of school, and the subject….
@Ben Shapiro If the structure is still good and they have heat & running water then it should be fine.
I suppose extra pieces of modern technology like CCTV and computers could be added as needed.
Finally, the proper example of "Re-education"
LOL I totally agree
It’s only for the show
This is actually a nice method for most developed nations. Countries like America could learn on how to teach juvenile delinquents.
Lmao it's all for show
Linh Nguyen the average IQ in Russia is nearly the same as in Africa there putting so much into this mainly because most of this kids will join the military and stay in the military
Any evidence?

Instead of punishing kids in a penitentiary having them beating each other up as a way to say “this is what happens” we should have more places like this!

GiveMeRent? Life another thing people don’t really realise, is that Russian people are strict on education, sports, and other skills. The schools are a lot more disciplined and they have a lot more variety in skills. Although, the country has a lot of negatives too
Lot of drinkers in usa
I could see that in this documentary
It is very community based
Something the USA lacks in every way
But many won’t admit it
Is it communism? No, I don't think so. It's just discipline and fitness certainly helps these boys mental issues improve. I could see a useful tactic for the juvenile system in the U.S.
Very sure that those Russians are using a system developed in Soviet era, so yes, this is socialism, a better system than the shitty western system.
@@EnriqueVivancoH yeah it was developed along with day care systems, miltiary academies, and polytechnic schools during the Soviet Era. It only makes sense to try with the youth. Try to teach them to be better, apparently their parents have failed them already. Everyone makes mistakes, especially children who are not correctly taught. I’m in the U.S. I think we should adopt this for our youth. These boys seem to carry a sense of pride. Pride of what they can now do or accomplish. Congratulations, kids. 😁

Very fruitful. I think this kind of facilities should be established everywhere! Well done.
@Igor Senkin , hi. I didn't know. I made a comment just based on what I saw. Thanks for educating me. Have a good one.
Apart from the high fence and the TV, it's how my old school used to look like back in early 80's. Teaching discipline is one thing Russian schools are good at. In this documentary, I was much impressed by the teachers' dedication -- that's also fairly common, especially considering the background of these kids. Nice work, @DW!
the staff seem so well intentioned. they do a lot with the little they have. hope good things for the kids.
In the UK you would call this ‘abuse’. The UK need to watch this video and rethink how they treat us.
We used to have this in the UK it was called National service
At least they are not uniform obsessed to exclusion of, yes, even their education, like British schools, particularly Academies....
I was in a same school like this in India! The school is 99% same and the punishments are harsh beatings as well!
All my life I thought we took that way from Britishers 😂

Something to be said about schools with structure discipline and rewarding those who achieve their own aims and goals and excel. Need more of them around the world.
Vadim is incredibly handsome.
Kids crave structure and they're getting it here. Without structure they don't feel safe and in control of themselves.
Humans in general need structure and ritual.
It is amazing to see how compliant they seem with it all, considering their previous backgrounds. What a great approach
It's possible they practice corporal punishment when cameras are not running. If it is applied with moderation and fairness, I have no objection. In such an environment a few well placed swats might be necessary to maintain discipline. They seem quite humane; but this is Soviet era Russia.
I thought the group dancing was really cool. Wasn't really expecting that.

I agree.
Its so noble thing

So nice to see Russia understanding why people do crimes unlike in America the people who grow up middle class think people are criminals when they're just trying survive.
How in the USA you need to be a criminal just to survive? That is a baloney. I know many immigrants from the former USSR who lives in the USA who had nothing when they moved there and are now in a basic middle class who simply works a basic middle class work, dont do any crimes and live normal. So this claim that you need to be a criminal to survive came from criminals themselves.

Fun fact. This type of re-education was first implemented in 1920s by ChK, the predecessor of NKVD and KGB. They literally collected homeless and orphan kids from the streets and sent them to these facilities. Many of those youngsters later became army officers, scientists, engineers and just ordinary people.
wow, this looks surprisingly civilized and humane.
i honestly have so much respect for this school. i was expelled at the age of 13 and sent to a very tiny school for expelled kids, it was underfunded and kind of just felt like a daycare. at this school, I was so severely harassed mentally, physically, emotionally that when I left 6 months later I was diagnosed with PTSD from what had happened to me there. the staff watched me get harassed by other students and just sat there without doing anything.
I admire the opportunity being given to the children whom look as though they're content. Congratulations to the Russian government.
