Yes exellent moves of arm . In China they have a private training for just arm & hand in traditional dance makes dancers can imitate moves of many animals.
I know little about ballet but her talent makes me want to be a fan. Amazing that her fate at the age of 11 was determined by a coin toss between her mother who wanted her to continue ballet and her father who wanted her to get out of ballet and become a doctor. Heads won. Glad her father lost, wonder what he thinks now, lol. One of the greatest, if not the greatest, female ballerina of all time.
After that superlative performance; I'd love to see Yuan Yuan Tan's Odile. Any chance of that?! Enjoyed seeing José Martinez providing careful, reassuring and supremely elegant partnering for YYT during the pas de deux.
Here's the entire swan lake production of san Francisco ballet. You'll see her dancing Odette and Odile www.sfballet.org/productions/digital-program-07/
I’ve seen her do the ballet here in S.F. and her black swan is phenomenal. She is able to assume the new personality better than any other dancer. She’s really the best.
It's so beautiful 😍 thank u for sharing lots of videos, this channel is amazing! Can I ask something, would you like to re-upload the Bolshoi ballet Don Quixote HD 2011 features Natalia Osipova? Those full ballet were amazing but please can you re-upload it? It will be amazing
It's a pleasure. Thank you for your appreciative comment! I would love to re-upload Don Quixote 2011 with Osipova, but unfortunately I can't because it was removed.
Your information is incorrect . YYT joined SFB as soloist at age 17, and was promoted to principal dancer 2 years later . She is one of the youngest principals of SFB and one of the most celebrated ones .. Helgi Tomasson , AD of SFB, adores her and she is a muse of many choreographers… SBF audience adore her .
@@leoninsf. No I’m correct . I bought SF opera ballet & ABT tickets regularly back then, & never saw Tan on any large ads outside opera house, incl booklet covers, & mailings for upcoming seasons. Mikhail was primary focus then in SF opera house - merchandise galor on him. Russian prima ballerinas were heavily marketed , not Tan.
@@l.e.6263 me too, I was there when Yuan Yuan Tan joined SFB as soloist . She was invited by Helgi and he offered her Soloist position. Back in the days when Everlyn Cineros was the star, then Pierre Francois Vibaloba joined joined a year later as soloist . A year later, Yuan Yuan Tan was promoted to principal . Then Lucia Lacara left SFB , then Evelyn retired . Tina Le Blanc was also a fantastic ballerina . Yuan Yuan Tan is a muse for many choreographers: Helgi created many pieces on her , Yuri Possokhov adores her and creates many work . Even John Neumeier immediately cast her in his Little Mermaid, at the SFB premiere , Neumeier cried after YYT’s performance… I was there too .. i won’t reveal my identity but almost all SFB principals are my friends
@@leoninsfglad u have memories of that time. Things changed rapidly due to HK becoming China controlled in mid 90s, then $$ flowed from overseas, & Tan was locally promoted more. SF ballet also changed with more funding bc many regulars /season ticket buyers preferred ABT, Met, NY ballet, & Kirov back then. As an insider, U know more of internal SF co than public. Compare global press when ABT chose its 1st black prima ballerina. Tan never got that type of sustained YRS of global media headlines & promo , etc, or was a guest judge on “U Think U Can Dance, “ & AGT. NowTan retired, SF ballet does NOT release her groundbreaking performances for public to enjoy, incl the modern ballets choreographed for her. This old enhanced clip is from Korean TV.

SF ballet failed to promote her in 80s & 90s ; other dancers incl guests got marketing in ads , posters, brochures but not Tan. She’s incredible.
