Hosted by the Jesuit Institute South Africa, Fr Russell Pollitt SJ, Cathy Mohlahlana, and Simphiwe Sesanti engage in a conversation about the state of the nation as we approach the elections.
Cathy Mohlahlana is a South African writer, TV anchor, and radio host. She is currently the host of the popular daily The Talking Point on the South Africa's national station, SAFM. Cathy has worked for eNCA, eTV, Radio 702 and Newzroom Afrika. She is the winner of the National Press Club Radio Journalist of the Year Award and the CNN Journalism Fellowship. Cathy holds a Bachelor of Political Science (WITS).
Simphiwe Sesanti is a professor at the University of the Western Cape’s Faculty of Education. He is a former Editor of the International Journal of African Renaissance Studies (IJARS). Simphiwe holds two PhDs, one in Journalism Studies (Stellenbosch University), and another in Philosophy (WITS).
Fr Russell Pollitt SJ is the director of Jesuit Institute South Africa. He has had extensive experience with media outlets, served in many sections of the SACBC and has directed many retreats, courses, training programmes and workshops. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science (UNISA), Bachelor of Sacred Theology (Urbaniana) and Masters degree in Theology (UKZN).
