Good video. Only thing missing is calling out that GT3s are around 400 lbs lighter than the Turbo S cars. So yes, they're down on power but are much lighter so their power to weight is similar to the base turbo. Throttle response and sound are also much better on the GT3 engines than the turbo motors. The S/T really is the ultimate 992. Too bad they're nearly impossible to buy right now.
Thank you for the insightful comment Mr. Dussert! I had not even considered the weight difference when it comes to the Turbos considering the additional all-wheel drive system and other luxury features compared to the GT3. I wonder what the driving feel difference is like in real life. I'd rather take a GT3 than a Turbo S for what it's worth. Shame that they put the S/T behind such a paywall considering it's supposed to be the ultimate 992. Maybe it could have been a trim level of the GT3. I'm sure they'll figure something out in the 992.2 generation though. Cheers!
And in my opinion, even if the weight difference wasn't there, I'd still take the GT3 over the Turbo S because of the GT3's more flat power delivery compared to the Turbos.
@@market_car You're welcome! The turbo S feels like a heavier rocket, while the GT3 feels lighter and more agile. If they were fighter jets, the Turbo S would be more like an F14 while the GT3 like an F16. The 991.2 GT2RS combines more power than the Turbo S with 300 less lbs. It's still the ultimate high performance 911 in my view, although the S/T is the best 992 and the 992 GT3RS is the best track car Porsche has ever built. Agree on the S/T. Really wish they'd build 5,000 instead of 1,963. Then people could actually buy them to drive them. Right now they're fetching $200K over MSRP...
I'm on my second 992 GT3 and also had a 991.1 GT3RS... Agreed the power delivery is awesome, and the sound as it rips from 6,000-9,000 rpm is amazing. It definitely doesn't pull like a GT2RS, but you don't really notice it unless you drive them back to back or try to keep up with very high powered turbo cars like a Pista or 765LT.
@@BertrandDussert I feel like the 992 GT3 would be manageable to daily unlike the GT2 RS. Otherwise the GT2 RS is perfect. Really excited to see what happens in the upcoming facelift, maybe an update to the GT2 comes out.
As the owner of 2 Porsches I appreciate what you are doing with this channel. From a production point of view I would like to offer 2 suggestions that would greatly improve the 'watchability" of your videos. Buy and learn to use a microphone! Your narration sounds like it was recorded in an echo chamber because you are recording it using the computer's microphone which means your viewers have to listen to a lot of reverb. Consider making your video with a pleasing background. It costs next to nothing as this video demonstrates. th-cam.com/video/xkj-lBNqwg0/w-d-xo.html. Cheers and all the best!
We all know what PS and KW's are. They are the international standard for power. Torque is stated in NM also. Thanks for the brief comparison. It's still very basic though. No mention of ground clearance or spring loading. Surprised porsche does not have more detail on their website, I guess if you want more, you go to a dealer.
Thank god for this video so now I can learn about cars I cant afford
The best way to increase your budget is to see how great things outside your budget are!

The all look - the - same. Except a few special editions, all of them are boringly the same. Sorry.
Porsche is for men, that’s why you don’t like it.
