      Thanks for watching Ben. It's not recommended to overseed Zoysia with Ryegrass. Here's a link to more information on the subject from the Clemson College of Ag: hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/overseeding-with-ryegrass/

    Thank you. In the video you give mix instructions for Holganix but you say "...and 2 oz of Prebiotic." Is that a separate product? You mention Holganix with natural ingredients and then seem to mention two Holganix products. It's not listed in your comment section. I can't find either product at the link above.

      That product is shown at 2:22 in the video. Another option for a starter fertilizer with Holganix is this granular option:

    Such great info for desert dwellers thanks so much. Your videos are greatly appreciated.
    I have one question though. What was the tumbler used for top soil? What is that called?

      @@ewingoutdoorsupply I overseeded with annual by accident. Is there a large difference? Doesn't either ryegrass die in summer heat anyways?
      I used a peat moss spreader and loved it! I was done in 20 mins, front and backyard. Thanks for the help 👍

      @@Sig_P229 You are okay with Annual but you might not be as pleased with the results. Perennial is quicker to germinate, is a darker green color, and is more vigorous than annual. Thanks for watching!

    Could this overseed process be done to a SA lawn?

    • @ewingoutdoorsupply

      Hello Thomas. Overseeding St. Augustine with Ryegrass is not advised because it can put stress on the turf. Also, because of how thick it is, it's difficult to get the seed-to-soil contact and sunlight needed for germination. St. Augustine grass should never be scalped. Thanks for watching!

    I did my first seeding this year with annual rye grass for the winter. Is the process any different when going going from rye to Bermuda for the summer.

    At what height should I be cutting the rye grass after it's been established and what height should I cut during summer when the bermuda becomes the primary grass

    • @ewingoutdoorsupply
      @ewingoutdoorsupply  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perennial ryegrass has a recommended mowing height of 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches. In the spring, to help the Bermuda to return, you can cut it shorter. Down to an inch or so. Thanks for the question.

      It's a good idea to apply the topper for a few reasons. It helps prevent seed movement on sloped areas, protects the seed from birds and helps to keep the seed moist during germination. Thanks for watching!

    Can rye overseed centipede?

    • @ewingoutdoorsupply
      @ewingoutdoorsupply  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not recommended to overseed Centipede grass. One reason is that Ryegrass holds in winter moisture which can lead to disease in the Centipede grass. Thanks for watching!
