  • This video goes over the install of our ATFSpeed TH400 cast iron automatic and manual shift valvebody with locked line pressure. With this ValveBody the line pressure is no longer adjusted by the modulator. The modulator only adjusts the shift points. You will need an adjustable modulator to make these adjustments. This valvebody can be shifted manually and it will not upshift to 2nd gear if the shifter is in manual low. If you manually shift to 1st gear the trans will go to 1st gear no matter how fast you are going, so only down shift when appropriate.
    Features:
    • Shift Pattern is P - R - N - 3 - 2 - 1
    • Requires a forward pattern shifter

My second time I seen this. I picked up more tips second time around due to I am in the process of working on the valve body section of my rebuild. Thanks for your time and money spend to create a awesome video.

What is line pressure? Can you get pressure at idle or in park down to 70 still? Great video instructions and details that tell me how and why this is a great cast iron auto/manual valvebody. For TH400.

anyone else notice a crack at 7:02 in the case below the hole that was drilled to connect those oil passages? Or is that just the molding line?

Could I drill the hole for the pressure mod then use a stock valve body with a shirt kit.

great detailed video, very informative. on the govenor what would be the purpose to have a spring on it that holds it open all the time. i purchased a use trans with the spring on the govonor and i don't know if its correct

They used the spring to hold the governor weights in the fully opened position, which made it necessary to manually shift for changing gears.

I’m doing a turbo build, but want the auto shift I’m worried about the 10 pounds of boost affecting the vacuum modulator. Will this kit fix that problem?

    Dear sir,
After a while, the kit for my TH400 GM has finally been installed and back on the car.
I have a problem because gear changes are unnoticeable and i think that the transmission is blocked in third gear.
I drive at 120km/hour with engine at 3000 rev. Per minute.
Even when i change gear with the gear selector in the car, it stays blocked in third.
    I select "L" or "I" and i may run at 120km/hour!!
Do you have please any advice?
Thanks a million for your helo
    Best regards
