He should start with “I need to coach better”. This woe-is-me take is a reflection on his culture. He recruited players, he coaches them every day, and he throws everyone under the bus but himself.

Throwing individual players under the bus in a press conference is pure BS. If this was reversed and players threw the coach under the bus to the media, people would lose their minds. No problem saying they're soft or that they don't want to win, but it's a TEAM failure, which starts at the top.

They have the biggest shoes to fill, and you have to live under the success and the shadow of the almighty John Wooden. With that being said, I love Coach Cronin. In the movie, each character wish they had something. The scarecrow wanted a brain, the tin woodman wanted a heart, and the cowardly lion wanted courage. They went to see the wizard in order to become a better and confident person. Mick Cronin wants to see courage, being smart and playing with heart from this team. They did not show it. He wants his team to fight when push comes to shove. To be confident not only in themselves but in their teammates as well. Which players will battle in the trenches when things get physical and push back when things get hard. Mick wants this team to play mad when there on the court. He wants them to play with fire in their eyes. You want to win in the Big Ten you need to be the more tougher and resilient team. This is not the Pac-12 anymore.
