Beautiful build I can see so much time and effort went into this, when the video started I began googling and realized as the video played I will not find this in the store. I want it. Build more, sell them, make money, Repeat!!!!!
Hi! Thank you for your compliment! Yes! This is the first attack helicoptor I know, and its is so unique. So, I always want to make the new one of it! (I have many of its scale model before .)
and as I can’t afford to have a more larger scale of it . this one is the largest scale I can get. I alway do some mod to my toys, hoping I can make them better. so, when I got this Comanche. I stopped every current projects. and move on it immediately!
Ha!thanks! but I don’t think I should make money from them…cos, none of them were not my design. I just can simply post it, sharing the idea : “ if you can’t found or buy something you want so much, you still can diy it for yourself!”
These toys I modified , in fact they are not very hard to make. But required a lot times spend on it! the whole progress is showed in the videos. And if it is the thing you loved so much! you will be so happy to do it! And finding a lot of ways to make it happen! I think that is the funnest part! Something that you build. and that build is not following the instructions^^. The diy hobby! When you started! You will just fall into it!

@@h.cedric8157 I hear you. I was having this kind of debate with a friend that wanted to spend a grand on a toy. I said I love the speed and takeoff since I live in LA and everything is paved. I’d love a big basher I could jump to the sky, but I have to drive for that. That made him go with the air. Of which he obviously said drone. I said, bro, in terms of enjoyment, I can’t imagine a drone be more fun then a plane you can loop, land, flip and what so ever. And a drone is a helicopter with 4 motors. You can technically do what you want with a heli, plus it looks cooler of which you can always modify to land on water, do tricks or whatever. Unless you go ham on a drone. But your right. Drones have great Video capabilities now. I try to look at things from a big boys toys side of things, like how much enjoyment am I gonna get out of the money and time I put into it. That’s just my opinion. Not to say I haven’t seen some drones that I was like, damn, you could fuck some shit up with one of those.

First time i hovered my V450D03 cp heli, i sweat bullets. It was scary loud compared to my V913(somewhat hated it, cuz i had to buy newtail motor often)
I just need new servos for my V450 though. I haven't had the balls yet to hover inverted and do 3D flying.
Ha ha! That's great! I love the plane too! But with my limited resources, i couldn't play with that. And speaking of the plane! You know what😁🙈！
I already made a "design sketch" of how to make a bvs batwing! But as far as i can't bulid it , i am not sure it will work or not!
And... Yes!😁 I am a big batman fans! Every rc i see , i only can think of now to make it into his vehicles! ^^

That gave me so much fantasy that tomorrow world must be so incredible! And yet , the technology we have right now ,from my pov ,far beyond the 80s,90s can think of! I think maybe it is build for 3d!
I haven't fly it for awhile ,i remember when i fly it ,i better move it very slow. Cause, when i move the stick in normal speed, this rc will roll very fast! So it feel like losing control.
I think this is the reason why we can't control it Very good!( At least for me!)
So, in order to keep this rc alive! I better just hovering it!
And i had crash it 2 times ,both just a little crash! But result in big impact! Had to fix and replace something!
So for the rc helicopter! I really like the fixed pitch! I had the other fixed pitch! The v912 converted onto the Apache! That rc!
I crash it like everytime i flight it! And it just never break! I never need to repair it after it finished! Sometimes i think, "air tank" really is its name😂！

This is the first attack helicoptor I know, i tried my best to ...make it look "real". what will it be ,if it still here.by studying other attack helicoptor. mostly were from the the apache. it have a new targeting head. a lot of new sensors. changed exhaust... 1st, i think it will be very hard to "upgrading" the comanche with all this. and after a few thinking, ^^ i found it was "easy" ! because, the rah66 is stealth. smooth and "all in one" body is what it is! so i think i just have to put all the sensors inside the body then it is okay!^^ designing what the rc look like is a happy part i have to say!

Ha! Me too 😊！ And between c3 & c4 ,i love c3 more😉！ I spend the entire childhood playing c3, f22 & nfs😆 and when c4 comes,my old pc can't handle the graphics . And to me, the low resolution of c3 which makes it looks more like a real simulation while c4 just like a video game ...😁😁

This Commanche needs to go into production - unlike the real one.
Amazingly good model of the RAH-66! I can see that a lot of love and hard work went into that one-of-a-kind build. Congrats! Now if only we could find a good 5-bladed rotor at that scale!

And yeah! The rotor head! I was thinking of that too. unfortunately, there is not much can choose or 3rd party mod on this scale. I have ever think diy the 5 blades ! But! Ha! I,myself know it is impossible !

An astonishing hobby RC, had tried this around in the 90s, you actually can create a modern tacticle version from those day errors, just add a 4 slim butterfly gemble motion duct fans drone propellers, on the main fan, ditch the rear tail, for a pivit 175° vehicle front to rear under AAA guns or LDI anti-missle/m-pod for aircraft.

Ahh thats what you have been doing… love it very nice… love airwolf ( i think a souped up bell helicopter) - i had a small airwolf but it crashed and now doesnt run….also and cobra and comanche… and the old sea king rescue helicopter…I can see now why you like the bat 🦇 wing…..

It was build after the tumbler,and in the middle of the 166 oblivion drones! 😁!
And if you can watch the whole 166 video! You can even see a runable batpod inside 😁😁! That rc batpod was build after the tumbler too! I put it behind since then, waiting for the build for the "rotate wheels" , and self balancing function! Which is still under progress today!

What creativity is incredible and I loved that detail in the propellers, I will put it on my helicopter I think it would be very good on night flights, they just need to mistake it for a flying saucer and shoot me down
thanks! i never flight it outside, because i am afraid of crashing it. this rc is not like former rc apache. it will break with just one crash. andi think the light blades will do great on your helicopter! when it flights at night! it would be looking so "sci-fi"! only had to remember which is the head and tail! and wish you all success^^!

Hi! Yes! I saw that movie too. Great film! I remember i knew the camache and the m1 tank was going to show in that movie ,i was so expected to watch it . And i remember ,few years after that . I was try to make that Comanche model too. It was a long time ago ....(i m not young anymore..) i paused the movie and watched it carefully. That Comanche is different from the real one. And even today.that broken Comanche model parts is still somewhere in my home.😄🙈

During the making of this rc. I didn't expect the rotor head cover can be success. I just kept trying it.and then it works!! So i guess, i was just only luck^^
And for the light blades. That idea was came during i editing this video. I found it would be very boring if i ending it with just a hovering fly. So i keep thinking what to do more,try to make it looks...more sci-fi or nowadays.so it came up with the light blades idea.
And, yes! In this scale! It is very easy to play in home anytime! but really had to pay a lot of attention when flight ,cos my place is small . I really not supposed to do it at home🙈！ But for the joy! A simple hovering in the air I think it is okay😁😁！

Hi! Thank you! After i build this rc ,when editing this video, I came up with the idea, why don't i do something ,to remember this game of my childhood time also ! so this video come up! In the beginning ,i want to do more references about this game into this video,like the cockpit view, the mission restart , takeover from playback ,etc!😁 . The taking over from playback! I remember it is such a great point why i love this game so much!
but with my limited video editing skill , that is what the best i can do!

Funny thing that the only "crashes" I've had with my heli was on the ground when my transmitter glitched and one accidental startup.

I wish I could have the larger scale of this Comanche like your! Your Comanche, basically ,just like a real one! The bay door and the gun! Real great job!!! And I saw it got a new paint job recently, is that correct?^^ . you must so love this helicopter too! There is so many thing I want to share with you! And it is my pleasure !
one of the parts where I love the most on the Comanche, is it smooth windshield. I tried create its windshield in many scale model since I was young. I tried so many way. And none of that have ever success before.
And after all these years, now I finally got the “bigger’ one. And I tried the other way, just completely create the windshield with the transparent plastic sheet. melted it with hot wind. And create the shape. after all the try, I finally made it! I think, maybe you can try that too! Imagine ,if it on your scale! Wow!!! So hi tech it will looks like! But, I don’t know. I just suggesting^^.
And that is the 2nd windshield I create on this ! The 1st one, I crashed it ,and it’s blade just completely destroy the thin plastic!
So, I when I see one of your video. You also experience that before. I really want to say! “Oh! Man ! Don’t be sad! I know that feel! and now I am feeling it!!!^^ >

@@lowbudgethobbiesguy4107 m.th-cam.com/video/aCX2Nsmok2s/w-d-xo.html it's too early for this and yet 0-0 < my eyes be like , at 5:00 AM , also the 144001 is so dirty there's leaf+grass pieces all in it and idk it's just so freaking difficult to clean that I've neglected cleaning it anymore , I usually used a small brush and a big brush , soft for wall painting , but good to dust things off too , however it still takes forever to do it and well in short I've gotten lazy lol

Really cool build..!!!! You should look at getting a 3D printer and start making parts that way for new builds. It might open some new possibilities for you.
Hi! Thank you! Yes! I really like to work on the 3d print, too. But ,…(ha…) i just can’t learn about it, The first time I learn about how to create 3d model , was using 3d max. It like…a decade ago, and I can still remember it is very hard to learn.
And now my computer ,is more like a tv to me. yet,I recently found a free 3d app, it is call Blender. It is free and really professional I see^^. I got it on my computer. But just tried a few times.
I know 3d is more efficiency ,very good for creative , hope I can use it in the future . But, before that! there are more important work I have to duel with first. all these toy projects I started in these few years.cos they are filled all in my place. If I am not clear it! there is no space for a 3d printer.^^

Lots of learning videos on TH-cam for Blender. Anyway awesome project and love the final model great work..!!!!

Now I am thinking, for me ,I don’t really have to make the model so precisely (in computer). To me the most hard part to create the model (in real life) is the base part! So, maybe I just created the base structure and paint it out. Then I do the rest . It would also given a big help too!

the v-22, i think it can build by mod a rc call bi-coptor. and one thing is ture! i always want a bi-coptor rc for so long. and lucky, i just found and got one in the 2nd hand toystore^^. it is the walkrea pandora warrior. i think it is more than 10 years old! and lucky ,it still works!^^. what i planed to do is , after i mod this pandora warrior, i will using it "inner body" to diy a bird calls "xh9 warbird"^^ it is a bi-coptor too. it is a gunship from video game COD AW. i love that one so much! and maybe after that, the v-22 maybe good!!
but, before all this! i will have to make sure i won't break that only bi-coptor i have^^. if not. all of this is will be just a dream>

hi! thank you! yes, the tail motor is a brushless motor, it is the orig motor from this M03 ready to fly kit. i know so less about rc modify. all i can do, is try to make the rc "dress" in the model i love^^
and for the "cap", it is from a spray can,which is apply for the other "project" ,i think i will mention it in the that video ,cause it had taken a great part^^!
and the bladegrips ,it is a shrink tubing. i burn it so slow, hope it won't hurt the rc.
and yes! i had finding the rc for this comanche for so long. i want it to be,stable, fast response and easy to fly. and so lucky, i finally found this m03. which seems like can do this all, and with the price not so high!
so once i got these all , i stopped any other project, and started this immediately ^^

And the rc i use is call JJRC M03. I think it is the same model with the Eachine e160. Just with the difference band name.
And yes! Speak of the k130. I have ever got one. It was my 1st 3d rc helicopter. And i crashed it on the 1st flight. I haven't fly the 3d before it. And I crashed it few time. And then it servo went wrong. The helicopter hit on the floor with the full speed! Now i thinking back! I was really lucky it didn't caused any one or any thing damage.
And Since then,the whole rc became a great parts .
So, for the 3d helicopters .i really love and hate it!😄

Hi! The tail motor is the orig one of this jjrc m03.it is a 10000 kv brushless motor. I guess the power up from coreless motor, is the reason why It can keeps this “non function blades” in function .
and the diagram. Yes! Did you see it in the video?^^ it is all hand draw. render as a gif animation, and put in the video.that was my new try!! (Old school, but it is still new to me!!!)
Okay! I will work on it.just give me sometime.speak of the diagram.after that.i’ve been working something like this on my next video too!
And for the fan tail. The idea of how to install the tail motor, was started from an accident ^^. This m03 ,I break its the tail boom just in the 1st flight. So I alway “hate” the full speed spinning blades! The tail boom break into 2. So, I had the idea to glue the “tail part” in the Comanche body. And use the other part as a connector between the main rotor and the tail.

That is so impossible for me to make the landing gears!
This rc isn't a large scale . The location for the battery better within the area.(dont move it so far) .i was thinking to move it ,and make room for the gears and the bay doors. But that can't be done. It can't be balance in the air. And if i use a smaller size battery. It can't fly. Cos the small size battery ,they can't provide a high output power for it to lift up. Yes, even this rc is light weight. But after the modification. With the original battery, it can't make it fly.
I have tried so many time to finally found the one which can make it lift up. That must at the 120c or higher.
( Honestly, i don't know the math.only got what they say, the higher C ,means higher power out put at the longest time, means...power droping ,not so fast. )

As you say, you must be going to buy a large rc helicopter ! With a the fpv cam and can be flying at night! 👍
To be honest, i haven't fly a large scale rc helicopter, so i just don't know which one is better...
But i can sure that must be very fun to fly it! And to the fpv camera, the a9 pro wifi cam you want to use . I think maybe it isn't a good choice. (Just i think, maybe i am wrong 😬！）because, the 1st thing is the size , even the larger scale of this commanche, its nose seem not big enough to fit in that camera. And for all the flying rc , the weight is important matter. Even i sure it can carry it. But , the lighter , always the the better! You may use that power to carry that cam weight to improve the flying performance. Plus, the flir cam too. If the nose have to fit that both cam. I think that maybe like 1/12,...1/8 scale. (...just guessing 😬😬）
And 2nd is the wifi connection, b4 i got my1st fpv drone, i have a few wifi fpv drone. And i know that the wifi one isn't as good as the other most people use for fpv. (And yeah, it just my thoughts, maybe there are so good right, nowadays) maybe for the range and the sable of the transmitting.
And when i get my 1st fpv drone. I ask the rc shop guy, about the hd video transmitter. And they show me about it, they say why the hd real time video isn't so popular around the fpv drone, is because of the price, and the size . And the power it use. (As i recall)
So, if it is the hd, or even 4k you want to use as the real time video fpv. More the space it would require in your rc helicopter.
The rc heli itself, the landing gears, the bay door, the fpv section, the battery.and all the servo motors to controling its. All inside one body in that commanche.
...it must be so big!
And finally, after all the rc things done(the rc helicopter can fly) you will have to paint and make this rc nice😁！that part just like everybody building the scale model. For me, i just don't have any secret to do it, just like everyone. Watching the refencne, and painting it looks like it. Try everything i can.
And i know maybe i can't answer all your questions, but most importantly is! You can do whatever you might think of to your project! Mate! When an idea come up to you! Just to test it! To me, it is one of the most funny part of the hobby! To do whatever i want to do! If it work! It is great! And if it doesn't! Just keep studying it and find out why! So when you finally get through all the problems! Your project! It is your work! You will remember it all of your life 😜！

All my models ,the are just a scale model with the ready to run or to flight rc inside. So i can rc it . Nothing so technical. It`s a ducted fan, bt you have to pick the right angle of attack for the tail RPM. Or design it in CAD and print it, like i do. If you use Blade 150S, Blade MCPX, Blade 230S, OMP M2 or OMP M1, you can order an fenestron from Heli Scale Quality.

before I got this JJRC M03, I was thinking to use the wltoys v912 on it. But, as I see , the huge fly bar of the v912, really doesn’t fit the Comanche, even destroyed it high tech looking. so I keep finding a suitable rc for it. Then , this M03 just come out in the market! And i thought “they would be a good matching!!”^^ .

@@ichankomo8767 hi! I think if I use that, it won’t be flying up^^. a little secret is,this rc is just can barely flying ,for not in the IDLE mode(full speed rotation ) its climbing up very slow. I use the thin plastic for some parts of the body. And it was already too much weight . i alway want to do some “lose weight” to it. But, ha! after it was completed. I think I have to rest for a while, cos it was so hard to make one^^.

Tilt the tail rotor 35° and push the main rotor 5cm forward. Trust me its gonna be fun. The tail will try to lift itself on clockwise direction. Aite.. Whatever it is, there will be more lift.

According what you describe, it seem the fan tail is using its own thrust power to lift up the tail part! Am I get it right?^^ That is the reason why the fan tail was tilt. Ha! i always wondering why .
In the beginning ,or during the process, i was thinking modify this rc body tail part to be tilt like the real one. the first thing in my mind why it work that way was, to improve something when it yaw. And until I noted The real Comanche main rotor is rotating in counter clockwise, and the m03 is in clockwise. so I gave up this idea!

@@lowbudgethobbiesguy4107 Trying to get lift from the tail rotor to balance the heli seems like a bad idea. The full scale helis tail rotors are tilted due to the helis tendency to lean to one side trying to counter the tail rotors sideways push. Tail rotor pushes one way and main rotor leans opposite to counteract that sideways push. Having them tilted (When the main shaft is vertical) allows them to be upright when the heli is flying, and preventing the tail rotor from imparting any unwanted vertical thrust. It honestly looks pretty well balanced as it is.

Ha, honestly,i know nothing about it. All the flying rc.i was just directly move the ready to fly rc to "dress" like the thing i want . That is nothing technical in it. All i know is to lose the weight, make the air inlet bigger, smoother, and balance the rc ! And then see if it can fly^^!

It really give me so much to think about . Thanks for the detailing explain it to me! I think i could try it by got myself a larger rc helicopter.
And for this rc ,the total weight is 256 g + 87 g battery which is 7.4v 120c 1550mah. It provide around 6-7mins flight time.
And for the battery ,i dont really know it so well . I only know the when the avarge 7.4v can't make it fly. I try the other way....by bought a lot other higher C ,mah battery to test the best from it. And that 1550 mah 120c 7.4v was the best one i found! While the 1000mah 120c 65g can provide 4-5 min .but sometimes its just dropping so fast .like 3-4 ,even 3mins . I don't know why,the bad charge or bad battery.
But this 1550mah can stably providing 6-7mins.

By the way "me myself" has a good point there about the tilted tail rotor. For me, if you r modelling a blackhawk & the body is longer to the back, the lift does plays its part. But if u mantain the original rc heli parts, (its stock weight distribution) then it would be a bad idea as it was already well balanced factory made. I used thin plastic for my model + super glue. So the finishing product is kinda heavy and slide backwards during take offs so I did what i did. But i would just go for tilting 30 degrees (real life is 40 degrees) because for my model, 40 degrees is a little too much. Had tail rising issues during takeoffs. 30 is just great 👏👏yeah man.. 💃💃Lol. Ohh before i forgot. If youre into tail tilting and ur tail rotor is fixed pitched, u might wanna do a little mod right there. Gotta switch the positive with the negative wire (because u r going to put it on the other side of the tail. The higher side of the tilt) or u can still just leave it on the lower side of the tail tilt..they are just the aesthetics.
Ohh by the way, u might wanna get yourself a rotary tool. And some epoxy. I used them alot. U can cut stuffs like tiny plastic pieces for spareparts or even metal. Ever since rotary tool came into my life, my work room had changed into a plastic & metal recycling plant (tht's wht my wife said). But anyways im looking forward for more videos frm you. I guess "diy" is just my thing. I cud watch ur videos all day. Thumbs up brudda 👍👍. Also thanx to "me myself" for the extra info.

I believe the circuit board shorted due to over modifications to the tail motor. So as a stern reminder for everyone here. If your tail rotor motor fail, get it replaced with the same model. What mistake i did, i replaced it with the almost alike but a little larger motor from one of my drone fan. I guess the circuit board got over heated.... It was a great heli. 😭 Blackhawk down brudda.... Unprofessional engineer rt here

I just subscribed this is amazing I've been trying to do something with the two XK 127 helicopters that I have they're not collective pitch but they have one button take off mode and they're pretty sturdy I put small Pico fpv cameras on them and have flown above my neighborhood with it this makes me want to make a alligator or Apache helicopter out of them

Yeah,i like the fixed pitch too! Cause ,from my pov ,they are more easier to control.more durable! And safety (They don't need a full spring blades, only increase the speed when it go up.) For that! That is Very important to me!

And The alligator! the ka52 ! Ha! I wanted to make it too! I have a plan when i got this co-comanche. It is the coaxial rc heli. So it is fit for the ka52! i wanted to take its body to make the comanche. And left the inner coaxial rc to make the ka50 or the ka52 . It feel like a plan " one stone two birds"^^.
But i just cant find the ka52 1/35 model anywhere.i think they are not on produce.and the old coaxial rc of this co comanche. It having some problems with the chip after a few fly. And I dont blame it, after all, it is a 10 year old rc . Its antenna of radio controller can extend to about a meter!^^ i am glad i can still found one!

I tried making a blackhawk model for v911s. (do not get v911s. Trust me)
First it cannot even lift at all. Too heavy. & then i add tiny rubber from lighters as bushings to the main rotor clips (the one near the center, not the main rotor). Eventually the attack angle increased and it actually works. There is lift now. But way too strong. Lol!
@@ichankomo8767 Ha! I heard about the v911s. I got 1 v911 v2. I was too. Like what you did .to make it in to the 1/72 Blackhawk . And it can’t fly it! you are very clever to increase the angle of attack of the blades to make it fly! Great job!!!
And ,ha!^^You know what I did when I see it can’t lift up!? I extended the length of the main blades, I thought it can be generating more lift up power. And yet!^^ it still can’t climb !! So the 911 v2 , I just simply add a fpv cam on it. To became a fpv rc heli. And with the flight time it have , it is a very good for it!
And the JJRC M05, I think it is like a bigger version of the v911! both having the long flight time. only it can’t lift up any weights.
And thanks for the idea! I think I would try it on the m05. To increase the attack angle .if it can work on this! It will be very great!! the m05 , is the best rc heli I know so far. safe , durable, ,easy to control. And long flight time!! And it can also fit into this rah66, cos, they are using the same body! If it work! I won’t be worry about to crash that Comanche any more!

Until i watched a video xk k123 doing heavy lifts. It lifted another rc heli. & it got me thinking....maybe i been missing something.. And ohh yes it is about the angle of attack. So currently i hve this theory (pls correct me if im wrong) that a collective pitch heli have stronger lifting force. But........ what if a fixed pitch heli now added on 4 rotor blades then just 2. Maybe with the same rotating speed now can do 2x more lift force... Maybe? Sadly i cannot do further test with my v911s as it tragically went up in flame during mid air. I'll make a monument at the crash site so tht my son & sons of sons will always remember not to be a self graduate engineer by watching discovery channels
@@ichankomo8767 Ha! I am only a newbe to the rc. All the rc i have ,they are most kinda like a entey grade . I think their benefits are : Not too expensive, easy fix , cause not much damage (very important! Cause im living in the small city ,with not much open space,even it does, it is full of people! )，And small on the size! Easier storage .fit for everybody's place!
I am not sure the collective pitch can do more power that the fixed pitch. From my pov ,i think it is all about the power source and the motor!
Yes，one thing i am sure .if you see it can't lift up .try a brushless motor one! It does a sighty power up on speed and power! If it wasn't thr brushless motor. All my mod rc won't fly in the air ,for that im sure!

Yes, i i think there much be more power by increasing blades. I think it would be more stable!
(I alway imagine if i were in the ah1 , feeling what would it be , if those two big blades rotate. These must be a sighty vibration than the sallei little blades does!)
And for the entry grade rc ,it don have so much options.most of them are 2 blade .
And it is so hard for most people to diy it into 4 or more blades! ,even it can .The pitch link position already changed. I really think of that^^ trust me .and for that kind of diy ! A 3d painter really is a must!
I have ever watched a video about how the use a 3d painter to recreate the whole rotor head ,with 4 or more blades! And i wonld say! That!...is not a modification! That ...is a manufacturing!^^!!
So if you found it won't be lift up a weights. I wonld suggest convert it to a brushless motor, or get a larger pro level RC!
....i always have a look on them! The pro grade rc , can choose the rotor head individually!
And they can really carrying any weight with no question!
There was a time i almost got the pro grade! And at the final moments ,i ust can hold myself.it is too dangerous for anyone if i am flying this thing！
