Late here but I'm in the process of building a new battery pack for a Pint X and this video was an eye-opener. Thank you!
Questions: For context, the stock pack is labeled 15s2p 18650 54v 6000mAh and I have and stock BMW w/OWIE chip. I was set on using 3000mAh 15A cells (Samsung 30Q or Murata VTC6) before I watched your video. Now, I'm thinking 2800mAh 25A (Murata VTC5D) cells would be safer because their higher discharge would be more resistant to sags/spikes and provide more amps after passing 50% capacity. Did I interpret your video correctly? If so, do you think this drop of 400mAh and a gain of 20A discharge will increase, decrease or not have an noticeable affect on range? If this isn't an appropriate place for my questions, please point me in the right direction ;)
    Thank you in advance!

you're spot on! I'd say overall the effective range will be similar. A lightweight rider cruising on flat road might get slightly less range than with the 15A cells, but heavier riders and/or trail riding the useable range will end up about the same if not better. Molicel P28A are currently the best available 18650 cells, not sure what country you're in though, the 5D's are pretty solid

@@surfdado Thank you for the quick response and answers! I'm 160lbs and ride pavement but there are plenty of pits/bumps, I like to send off curbs, and ride up/down any transition I can find so the higher discharge will give me more 'peace of mind' in those situations.

Hey man, I love your videos! I have a specific question regarding AH and discharge Amps.
For a 15s3p pack: would this configuration have more range and power with 15A 3000mah cells or 10A 3500mah cells?

@@qapaMcFly Protective gear, sure. But I'll explode a board for a few extra miles per hour. 😎
In all seriousness though, I'm glad you went with a helmet. 🙏
