To clarify some things : 1.I'm not dead! 2.Beta 2 was gonna release, but due to some technical difficulties however, it got delayed. Sad i know. 3.Thanks to said delay, Beta 2.5 was and is in production that aims to have a lot of quality of life fixes. And even adds new content! Like the Paralyzer(new weapon!), New 3D model of the K-T Bow, even the return of the old DinoTrap as a new equipment item!
Death animations got removed because it causes a bug that made all creatures die from a cactus,magma, and sweet berry blocks. Why the allo didn't break any leaves isn't because i removed the behavior that causes it to break, i just turned off mob griefing.
Then try updating it to 1.17.40, all though fossil spawn rates is bugged, it has been addressed in beta 2 which should release this month or first week of November

Odd, perhaps you are using a version that is bellow 1.16.200?
It was the version Beta 1 was built in
my other phone's minecraft version is 1.16.201
Did you apply the right RES pack?
