Is Post Graduate certificate like master degree? If yes nothing to worry about. Because Master Degree and PHD are allowed to bring there spouse, But undergraduate or college student is not allowed.

Yes pls. The new law says once you graduate, be it masters or pgd, either a year program or more, you are eligible for 3 year PGWP

I was planning to further my studies as an HND holder in banking and be the main applicant since proof of funds will be under my account but with this news my wife will not accompany so I’m thinking to reverse the applicant and consider my wife that Will graduate next year since she will be eligible for a master program and spouse open work permit.

I think the way things are going if am given the opportunity to suggest to the Universities, I will suggest that they release Masters admission notice as early as possible while they wait for the clarification for attestation by March 31 since Masters and PhD students do not require attestation. In this way, it will reduce congestion at the IRCC's portal when the issue of attestation is finalised.

We are in the UK and just got our SP and SOWP visa last month to resume my 2 year post graduate diploma in May 2024. Please does this new law affect our SOWP visa?
Secondly if it doesn’t affect our visa when we try to apply for the post study work permit visa in the future will this affect my spouse?

I am an international student at the moment and my family's application for sowp is still on going. My concern is it is beyond the processing time of twelve weeks now. Today makes it 12 weeks +5days. What can I do? Also hope this new rule will not affect the application and cause my family to be refused?
Most times, once it has stayed longer than expected, it is a positive news because if they have not considered the application, it would have long been denied. They will get it.
This is not proven, I have seen someone that was denied after 3 months

It depends on your program, whether it is a post graduate or undergraduate program. If your program is an undergraduate program you will definitely need an attestation letter, that means you have to mail your school on what to do, or you can hold on till march. Good luck 🤞

You could come with your family. They will just not receive a work permit so you will have to have the funds to support yourselves while studying.

What about those who are still waiting for a decision on their study permit and the admission has been revoked by the school due to visa delay?
If you can, try and get another Letter of Acceptance for a future intake (either by deferral or apply for admission again) and upload it as a webform to IRCC as soon as you get it.
But make sure it's the same program and same school (DLI).
Don't worry that your program start date has elapsed, IRCC will sill issue the visa if all other requirements for your eligibility are satisfied.
Your study permit itself would be issued at the Canadian border when you arrive, based on the Letter of Acceptance submitted to IRCC. So even if your start date has elapsed, once you upload your new intake date to the portal and submit it physically on your arrival in Canada, the study permit will be issued based on the current date.
If your new intake date would extend your schooling beyond the years IRCC would've stipulated on your visa, you'd still be able to start school but you'll have to apply for a study permit extension in good time.

The Canadian embassy will stamp a temporary residents visa on your passport(given from the Canadian embassy in your home country before you travel...and you will need a study permit ( which you will get once you land in Canada)... So you need both if you come here as a student
