Thanks to your videos, I got approval for my study visa to study masters degree.
However I chose to apply without my family due to funding issues.
Now I want to know how I would proceed to bring them. Do I have to wait until I get the study permit at the border to apply for the spousal open work permit and study permit for my children?

@@Eve_rich I know but the truth is that i already applied for college and i cant afford leaving my family. If it is possible they can come in by sept so he can work to also support the fees.
I just hope they have rethink in this new policy

My wife is currently working in Canada ,she has gotten PNP and she has put in for PR ,but we have OWP applications on going in IRCC. 1. Can she go ahead with the PR application, while we wait for the outcome of the OWP . After she has submitted the PR can she use the PR as a webform to the OWP we are waiting for???

It's too early....1 to 2 months ro resumption is the best time.

It's a very bad idea, please wait and travel in August. They can return you when you go early

If you dire need want to move with family, then apply to a masters program
I will suggest one person applies first then reaching Canada he or she can vigorously help search for LMIA jobs for the spouse b4 thinking of applying for visiting visa

You can change school and notify IRCC your new DLI via webform, you do not need a new study permit if the one u have is still valid.

I am 45yrs, own a local automotive repair business and have ove twenty years of practical experience. How much funds do I have to prove and Do you still suggests I use only a personal accounts?

Hello peter for an applicant that applied before the new immigration changes announced on the 22nd of Jan, 2024 what would likely be the fate of an applicant husband who applied for open spouse permit? A colleague's wife is going for a graduate certificate program that is eligible for a post graduate work permit after her graduation.
Would accompanying kids apply for student permit or visitors visa
I stand to be corrected I thought they said in the coming weeks there will be no SOWP.they hvnt given any concrete date that hey have cancelled it for it
Exactly they have not said any specific date or time frame so the whole thing is not clear yet

If one is current study permit holder who is in Canada already but deferred studying till September. Can I still request for my family to join me on or before September 1?
Unless you are doing your Masters. If not, don't defer because you won't get a pgwp either

No no Peter. Your first option I believe is more feasible and easy than your second and third suggestion. That will be way too difficult especially for those coming from Africa with very limited financial resource.

In 2024 no more cheap tuition, when I applied tuition was 9k but when I was granted I saw 19k for one yr.

Check the IRCC page, your wife's program should be amongst the exemptions that the students can still bring spouses.
Nursing is not considered a professional program for that distinction. There may be exemptions for in demand trades in the coming weeks but no announcement has been made yet. I would highly suspect practical nursing to be one of them. If she hasn't already applied and been accepted to a program, be aware though that those nursing programs are in very high demand and often require the applicant to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident as the seats are limited. (there were zero international students in my LPN program and 2 students with permanent residency in my RN program. The government controls how many people annually can take the courses similar to spots in medical schools. My LPN class had 28 students and my RN class had 180 students per intake for reference.
