Your videos are some of my favorite videos to watch on BookTube! I absolutely appreciate them, and have gotten some amazing book recommendations. So thank you for all that! I appreciate you!
So it wasn't in 2016 but I read Six of Crows and Crooked kingdom and I completely fell in love with all of those hooligans and I can deeply appreciate how these books got onto your list. We have a bunch of the same favorites and I am thankful for the new book list.
Also my Three Favorite so far have been of course the Six of Crows books, The Throne of Glass series, and that includes A court of THorns and Roses books anything from sarah j. maas really, and last but not least Of Mist and Bees
The DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE series is my all time favorite! I've read the series multiple times. It's just so wonderful. Laini Taylor's writing is gorgeous. Have you read STRANGE THE DREAMER yet?

Hannah Ellsworth Thank you so SO much, that means the absolute world to me ❤️❤️❤️ And thank you for your kindness and support, I wouldn't be here without that 💗
I loved All the Light We Cannot See and The Sun is Also a Star too! I couldn't put either of them down from the second I started them. I actually just got The Raven Cycle and The Mistborn Trilogy for Christmas and they've now been moved wayyy up on my priorities list. Thanks for the awesome recommendations! Also, I just wanted to say that I really love your videos and you've actually inspired me to start my own channel. I'm hopefully going to be starting up with the New Year and I wanted to thank you for giving me the courage to do so!
3 fav books of 2016: A Court of Mist and Fury from Sarah J Mass's ACOTAR series that you need to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kindgom. Sooooo good The Wrath and The Dawn
LucieReads Just out of curiosity. Is this book slanted heavily towards feminist topics and themes or are other topics covered as well? Either way I'm interested in picking it up. If not for the change in point of view (as a man), then decent poetry.
I'm not sure how "slanted" I would say it is but there are definitely feminist themes incorporated especially towards the end. And all of the poetry is kind of told through a feminist lens in my opinion :)
Happy New Year! My favorites were: the Gold Seer trilogy, the Jackaby series, Ember in the Ashes series, The Night Circus, Forbidden Wish and Shadows of Self by Sanderson. Can't wait to see what you think of Hero of Ages :) *evil laughter*
i love the raven cycle and all the light we cannot see so much when u mentioned them i cried character driven books are my absolute favOURITE and so are historical novels and both of them are such good examples of that and agH
I just discovered your channel and I love the way you talk about books! Not too much information but still able to describe the book and discuss what you like about it! SUBSCRIBED :D
I binge watched a lot of your videos over summer and so when you got to you number 1 I was like "it's obviously The Night Circus" and then you said Crooked Kingdom and I was so confused and then I went to your goodreads and realized you read that in 2015! it just felt like you read it this year because I watched all your videos this year, very funny!
my favorite book i read this year is an tie between an ember in the ashes and a torch against the night. i also really loved lady midnight, the tales from the shadowhunter academy, anna and the french kiss & the mime order
Great video as always. Mistborn I have tried to read twice..everyone loves this so much. I must try again I got like 100 pages in and just can not get into it. I added a few to my TBR. Thank you
if you love poetry try charles bukowsi's. my top 5 read of all time would be the virgin suicides by jeffrey euginides, the book of lost things like i at least read this every single year it's such a great book and how tragic and just remind of you of your childhood, the book thief, the beginning of everything by robin schneider, and also to the lighthouse
Happy New Years! Such a great list, by the way. I love many of those you mentioned as well, and plan to read a few others. For myself, a tentative top five would be: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, milk and honey by Rupi Kaur, Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, and The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers.
I love this video and am so happy you had such a great reading year!! I NEED to read Vicious, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Carry On, and Mistborn! I 100% agree that All the Light We Cannot See is one of the most beautiful books ever. I also adore the Raven Cycle and Six of Crows Duology and The Sun Is Also a Star is fantastic. I love your reading tastes and how you describe books so much!❤️
My top 3 books are: 1) ACOMAF by Sarah J Maas, 2) Cinder by Marissa Meyer and 3) The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee! You have some great picks as well. I ordered TSIAS and the Six Of Crows duology boxset just after Christmas so you've made me even more excited to finally read them! :)! Happy New Year!!
I love all the light we cannot see!! aaaAAAA so beautiful and compelling! I am new to your channel and I already trust your reviews because your taste is really similar to mine and you have a really nice and clear way of speak so thank u thank u for this
I really didn't like Milk&Honey, it felt very tumblr-esque to me 🙈 I might read Carry On in 2017 because I love the new cover of the edition that is about to be released 😁
I finished reading Crooked Kingdom and hour ago and that how I found your channel because I wanted to watch someone else's thoughts on it as I cried. My top books would be: Lady Midnight We Were Liars Six of Crows Duology
you really should listen to the raven boys books audiobook because the author wrote music for the audiobook and for "Blue lilly lilly blue" has a original song on it you really check it out
Dreams of Gods and Monsters and Days of Blood and Starlight were on my favorites list for 2016 too! The first one was on my list for 2015. It's such a wonderful series. Also I absolutely love Ziri
All The Light We Cannot See & Mistborn are on my favourite list as well! They are so sooo good. Can't wait to read Hero of Ages! Daughter of Smoke and Bone sounds like something I would really enjoy! I might have to read that!
Is it a YA series? I've noticed that last year I didn't really enjoy the very tropy ya books, if you get what I mean. Is it anything like the very well known fantasy YA books? or more like say Mistborn?
Oh I'd definitely say it's much more like Mistborn! It has some tropes here and there but they're definitely not as cliche as in most of the other YA fantasy I've read.
All The Light We Cannot see is top priority for me this year! So pleased to hear you enjoyed it so much :) You read so many brilliant books in 2016, I hope 2017 brings you just as much amazingness! :D
My favorite book of 2016 by far is also Crooked Kingdom. I just adore it to pieces and honestly feel like I could reread it over and over and over again and never get tired of it. My other two favorites would have to be Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe and The Last Olympian (but really the whole Percy Jackson series). Also, I've added like all of these on my TBR throughout the year as you've mentioned them and hopefully I can get to them this year. I hope you had a wonderful New Year's and I wish you all the best in 2017.
hufflebee Ahhh yes!! So many fantastic books!! And I totally feel you on Crooked Kingdom, I'm already planning a reread 😄😂 Thank you so much for all of your support this past year, I can never thank you enough. It's meant everything to me ❤️❤️❤️ Here's to a fabulous 2017 for the both of us! 😊🎊✨
thank you for continuing to make videos and replying to comments, you're honestly one of my favorite youtubers and it never fails to make my day when i see your videos or replies
My top 3 favourites were Wolf Hall, Only Ever Yours and Wild Swans. It's frustrating though bc not a lot of booktubers have read Wolf Hall (at least, not the ones I watch) and I reaaaally need to hear someone else talking about it because I am OBSESSED with Thomas Cromwell. Oh, the struggle!
Have you read "I'll Give You The Sun" by Jandy Nelson? I read it in 2016 and I am so obsessed with it and recommend it to every book lover I come across. If you haven't, you should definitely pick it up! It's just too good. I loved The Sun Is Also A Star as well and I think you'll love I'll Give You The Sun because it is so different than other YA and UGH it's good
I was actually really turned off from Carry On after reading Fangirl because I thought it was just something the author published for the money, but hearing you talk about it is making me think that I should give it a try
I want to read You soo bad. It's at the top of my TBR list. I really want to read the Six of Crows duology but I want to read the Grisha trilogy first, even though I've heard you don't have to. My top 3 favorite books this year: 3. "Choker" by Elizabeth Woods, 2. "A Court of Mist and Fury" by Sarah J Maas, 1. "Red Queen" by Victoria Aveyard.
Kawaii Books Im almost done with the Grisha Trilogy right now and so far I'm enjoying those too! I hope you like them as well as the SoC duology! Happy reading in 2017 😊💕

Just finding your channel now. We seem to have a lot of the same tastes! I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your channel (and following your GoodReads of course). Happy 2017!
This year I'm absolutely going to read the Six of Crows duology, buuuuut, I have a very important question. I haven't read the Grisha trilogy, should I read it first, before going into SoC? I really want to read the Grisha trilogy and I'm planning to marathoning both series. Also my favorite books of 2016 was The rest of us just live here by Patrick Ness, and I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
If you're planning on reading the Grisha trilogy, I'd definitely say read them first. While you can read Six of Crows first, it will spoil parts of of the Grisha trilogy so it would be best to read those first. Hope this helps!
ooh if i can get my hands on that edition of Daughter of Smoke and Bone i'd definitely want to check it out. the ones with the masks really turned me off of them haha 🙈 great list, Crooked Kingdom is definitely one of my favourites of 2016 too!
I've heard so many people talk about how much they love 'Six of Crows' and 'Crooked Kingdom' and I'm itching to read them, but I haven't read The Grisha trilogy yet, so I need to get going on that first. Happy new year from France ! :) Have you read Everything Everything ? I have the feeling of being the only person in the world who doesn't like this book at all. It's has been translate in french recently, and in France everyone like it to. So, I want to read The sun is also a star but if it's too similiar I'm not gonna like it at all 😂
I have read it, and I did enjoy it, but The Sun is Also a Star is completely different! It honestly feels like they were written by two different authors to me, so I'd say it's definitely worth the try even if you didn't like Everything, Everything! 😊
Booktube has definitely helped me expand what I read!
You get so much information across so clearly. Really good job.
Thank you so much, that's really nice to hear!
I love going back to your old videos and seeing books you read before they became big things! like you is a really popular netflix show now and you knew about it before it even came out

Top 3 Faves of 2016: War and Peace, Rambunctious Garden, Peter Pan ;)
Happy new year from France ! :)
Have you read Everything Everything ? I have the feeling of being the only person in the world who doesn't like this book at all. It's has been translate in french recently, and in France everyone like it to. So, I want to read The sun is also a star but if it's too similiar I'm not gonna like it at all 😂
I have read it, and I did enjoy it, but The Sun is Also a Star is completely different! It honestly feels like they were written by two different authors to me, so I'd say it's definitely worth the try even if you didn't like Everything, Everything! 😊
Sorry for not focusing on the books but I have to mention that you look way too awesome in that blouse you're wearing :)
Do i need to read the shadow and bone trilogy before reading six of crows ?
