I served in the South Korean army on the border between South and North Korea which is called the DMZ(De Militarized Zone). When I was on guard duty at dawn, I looked up to the northern sky. The fact that there are two completely different worlds on the two sides of the river makes me think a lot.

I was like wow South Korea looks like an island at night and then I realized they pretty much function like an island. Rich countries moved high-pollution companies to countries like China, Brazil etc to get the price lower. At the same time they say countries like China, Brazil etc should protect the earth because the it belongs to all. Some countries like Japan doesn’t even cut one tree but they put paper-related companies in other Asian countries. My thought: do not just only say “Brazil should save the forest for us”, but give help!

The Berlin Wall didn't go through Berlin... it went around West Berlin - Berlin itself is several miles inside what used to be East Germany, and West Berlin was basically an enclave surrounded by the Berlin Wall. Really interesting to see the marks are still there in the colour of the street lights! (Look very carefully and you can see the orange lights surround the white lights that were West Berlin!)
I remember watching the news when the Berlin Wall came down; such a powerful moment of history.
The street lights are changed...now they are all white :|
Iam from East Berlin 👍🚧 and the Border “Wall” is still in the head from the people. Some separate between Ossis (East people) and Wessis (West people) Dialect, Cooking, culture and Grocery items are different. Unemployment and lack of business are more in the East part. Escape to the West still exists, in both economic and academic terms. But unification has made incredible progress for both countries, creating security and peace in the heart of Europe.

I served in the South Korean army on the border between South and North Korea which is called the DMZ(De Militarized Zone). When I was on guard duty at dawn, I looked up to the northern sky. The northern sky was totally black and nothing was seen, while the southern sky was always bright with lights from various cities. Where I was, soldiers of the two Koreas were confronting each other only a mile apart with a river between them. The fact that there are two completely different worlds on the two sides of the river makes me think a lot.

The Berlin Wall didn't divide East and West Germany, just East and West Berlin
What's your point? At that time West Berlin belonged to West Germany and East Berlin to East Germany, so it was in fact an international border.
@@iudicator My point is that there were two different walls. One that went around West Berlin to separated from all of East Germany and the other that separated not only both the FRG and the DRG but all of the Western Bloc fron the Eastern Bloc.
Berlin was a divided city inside DDR
BTW These were three independent countries with political borders. BRD(FRG)/DDR(GDR) / BerlinWest. Berlin West and FRG were economic partners, currency was identical. D-Mark (WEST) and DDR Mark (EAST) are complete different
@@Hokkaider77 Well, yes.
