How you found any other creative ways of storing spells or magical effects? I'm happy I had the chance to expand on this wonderful lore, especially since it's such a large part of the Red Wizards of Thay! Thank you so much for your unwavering support of this project. Now I want to play a character who is a Journeyman Magical Tattoo artist wandering the lands searching for ink components and powerful artwork. The fact that you created NPCs they could have apprenticed under for a backstory is too cool! I wonder what class would suit such a character? A cleric who wants holy bones or rare metals to make healing and protection tattoos? A sorcerer who wants dragon blood for damage and resistance tattoos? There is a lot to explore here.
Now i have this idea of a lich tattoo artist kidnapping random people storeing zombie plague spreder in tattoos before letting them "escape" or tattooing his zombies with spell like stinking cloud ow what fun
I played in a campaign where the DM allowed custom magic tattoos. I had my character get the equivalent of the gauntlets of ogre 👹 strength 💪 tattooed on his hands.
I used to limit the number of tattoos by skin. They are complex and requires alot of flesh. Take a spell book say 25 pages per tattoo. One whole leg or arm for 1 spell. Half a torso also the ability to read the tattoo. One on your ass. Thats a no go. So maximum 6. Ones on the torso upside down. Cause your looking down.

Mr. Greenwood, I wonder just how many ways someone can store spells on their body and is there a limit?

I remember magic tattoos being big in the original Planescape.

Just remember there this undead that's basically animated skin lich's favorite canvas
Sounds like it wouldn't cost much to make a troll invincible.
Thank you Inkmaster Magus.
Doggy! It looks so cute and makes me miss mine!

What about casting permanency on the tattoos?
My players arrived at Kir Sabal, in Chult., and found a tattoo artist. They spent 5 days there getting tattoos 😂
Mr. Greenwood..... do you have tattoos yourself?

Different according to ED, just VERY expensive to get so many.
@AbstractTraitorHero agreed. Just my home brew
@AbstractTraitorHero also that was maximum.
