I like Nate and sympathize with him but no. All these guys love to say "It's a business" then show they have no idea what that means. If this is even partially true, it means River's got orders from the FO. Rivers was an employee and toes the company line. And guess what? Finance in these clubs know exactly where players are and forecast payouts. They know when incentives will kick in.
This is why agents are so important. Not just for a shoe deal but there is a lot of history and perspective they can have about different teams and risk and parametersaroundguaranteedmoney. You bet Teams will do that to certain players. 100%. Especially if nothing material changes (playoff positions, etc). Still a 2 seed with or without him, not a fan draw with without... it's a business. It's the part that makes you not like the game .

Coaches are doing what they’re told in terms of the management of players. They receive an itinerary before the season like the players do. The owners & Presidents have goals for the Coaches to reach just as the coaches have goals for the players to reach…! If the Coach is told by the Owners, hey sit ________ out of this game we want to save the Franchise 40 Million. Whoever the Coach is has to accommodate that request or face replacement…!

I’m my city there’s a program called youth works, where they assign young men to a job and pay them through the program. I own a Barbershop so every summer I would get about 3 to 4 young men assigned to my shop. Most of them play sports and wasn’t able to be there everyday. I still made sure those young men got a 40 hour check every week because when they were there they did everything we asked them to do. The money wasn’t coming from me so why would I stop them from getting paid, plus it was my way of sticking it to a system that constantly sticks it to us. Doc Rivers is a sucka and a half for not allowing Nate to get what he rightfully deserves. No wonder his coaching career went down the drain. The universe can’t be played wit it knows and it reacts.

I would bet you all my entire (nonexistent) fortune that Dic Rivers never thought to himself, I'm gonna stop Nate from playing; so, he doesn't get this money. I'd wager what happened is someone in the front office told him in mo uncertain terms not to play him. Hard to ignore an order that's gonna cost the boss 1.5 million. LeBron and Tom can get away with that. Not too many others can. Maybe Steph, bur definitely not Doc Rivers.
