The Companions (Hetairoi) were the elite cavalry of the Macedonian army from the time of king Philip II of Macedon, achieved their greatest prestige under Alexander the Great, and have been regarded as the first or among the first shock cavalry used in Europe. Chosen Companions formed the elite guard of the king
Foot Companions (Pezhetairoi) were the backbone of the Macedonian army and Diadochi kingdoms. They first came to prominence during the reign of Philip II, particularly when they played such an important role in Philip's subjugation of Greece at the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BCE. The name "foot companions" was used by Phillip II, father of Alexander the Great as an ancient recruiting method. By labeling his infantry as his personal "companions" and "friends," Philip was able to engage a wider manpower base for his subsequent military campaigns, as positions in his personal infantry would denote pride and honor.

It's based on the mosaic of Issos, and ilustrate the battle of Issos, where Alexander almost killed King Darius. While he was killing and empaling everyone, he was approaching to the king, who ran away when he saw Alexander coming.

I got creative with my friends.. we made our own hoplite armor, some made knight armor etc. and so we listen to this music while we are "fighting", and it really matches up, and gives the adrenalin, keep up the good work man!

I can just imagine this:
An old city, maybe in Persia. They're prepared for for battle, thinking it'll be a breeze. Then this music starts playing, and the Persians see their worst nightmare. Alexander the Great in all his hunky glory riding towards them, staring them dead in the eyes from 500 yards away. Then there's a cloud of dust, and the Macedonian army comes into view, marching like robots behind Alexander. The Persians realize what they see and try to turn around, but the men behind the wall already closed the gates. The soldiers are now stuck between the hard place that is the walls of their city, and the rock that is Alexander's army hurling towards them. And with every step the Macedonians take, the Persians' fear grows more and more real.

Actually it was the Spartans who subjugated all of southern Greece first and defeated Athens, and then dismantled the Athenian Empire. Philip of Macedon's intention was not to subjugate Greece but rather to bring stability to Greece since Philip was anxious to pacify and unify all Greek tribes.

To the Slavs that say Alexander the Great wasn't Greek. First of all his teacher was the Hellenic philosopher Aristotle. We have teachings of Aristotle in Greek. Do you also say that Aristotle wasn't Greek? Secondly do you say that Macedonia wasn't Greek which is false because of what i wrote above and much more or that you are ancient Greeks. Because if it's the second one remember that you don't speak Greek you speak a Slavic language. And if you say "How do we know that our language isn't ancient greek?". Well that's easy. Millions of other Slavs speak the same of similar languages to you from the same language tree. Slavs are ancient. You are Slavs. Granted, you occupy some of the ancient Macedonian land. a) Greek language, which was a doric dialect as proven by artifacts and linguistic evidence.(e.g. pella curse table ,Isychios dictionary)
b) Greek names, which were all of Greek origin and had Greek etymology with the exception of a handful of names considered as loans.
c) Greek symbols, such as the Sun of Vergina, which was used by the other Greeks before the ancient Macedonians used it. (e.g. lacedaemon crater from luvre 7th century and many more)
d) participation in Pan-Hellenic Games, where no foreigners were allowed. Many Macedonians participated, starting from Alexander I.
e) they used Greek toponyms (e.g. Thessalonike),
f) they worshiped Greek heroes (e.g. Achilles, Hercules),
g) they used a calendar using Greek months.
h) they believed in the Greek gods and had Greek customs.
i) they listened to Greek theater (e.g. Euripides at Pella has been well-documented).
j) they even called themselves Greek and they never called themselves non-Greek. In fact, they would call non-Greeks as barbarians, just like the rest of the Greeks did (e.g. when Philip V saw the Roman camp.
k) Even foreigners called them Greek (e.g. Yauna takabara by the Persians that means Greeks with funny hats).
l) they used Greek terminology for their military ranks without the need to do so.
m) they spread Hellenism and Greek language

Greeks and Macedonians neither have more nor less of a right to claim the ancient history in the area, considering both ethnic groups are descended from varying differing ethnicities in the past (due to the region having differing ethnic groups move through/live in it). It's kind of complicated I suppose
