this part at about 7:30 was the most satisfying and releaving moment on the record to me. could imagine these chords come straight from dan’s mastermind and it’s astonishing and genious at the same time that it doesn’t repeat or reaccure anywhere.
You need to review Double Helix!!! I can’t wait for your reaction or thoughts on that fucking beast of a song.

I'm Ukrainian and I've listened to the whole Colors II right before the full scale war has started in my country (all credits go to delivery services as I've ordered this album at summer 2021). I'm a great fan of BTBAM (hope the greatest one in Ukraine because I have CDs and T-shirts from Coma Ecliptic and Automata (both released)), so this particular record has shaken me down to the floor! After two years of full scale war I still recommend this album as a quintessence of metal prog music of all time. BTBAM FOREVER! Thanks for your support of Ukraine! We'll fight the russians until the Victory! They're occupants, so that's the way we deal with them

i discovered the band with this song so i'm a new fan but i've already listened from the self-titled to colors, and i can't wait to get to colors ii because this song is so fuckin good and i've been lovin all their other stuff too
I have been following BTBAM since one month after Colors dropped, and I have never anticipated an album more in my LIFE. Hearing it brought tears to my eyes more than once, experiencing this.. "Colors" written in an alternate timeline, with BONUS hints and nods to parts of their entire body of work between the 2 albums!!
I am just so happy, and being BTBAM, this doesn't even mean they'll lose steam, they can do WHATEVER they want to do, and NOTHING will shock us(only the elitists lol.)

Ever since i listen to "Selkies the endless Obsession" in a playlist i made in my computer to listen while i was taking a bath in 2006 ... i became an instant fan ..checked out their prev albums and got hooked ...then i listened to their remaining releases as they came out one by one getting more an more impressed (...Even the proggy Coma Ecliptic album ) until they became my fav band of all times.. Colors II sounds great so far .. AS ALWAYS !!! Great review man !!!

I have been a BTBAM fan since they released Alaska and it is just mind blowing each step of their development as a band, and in this album they are the most versatile I have ever seen. Colors II is such a treat!
I hope that by the time I see them next month they will have this one on their 2nd playlist after they play through TGM.

Thought this song was sick as fuck till the Ferris Bueller hit and then I was like holy shit this is one of the best songs I’ve heard in 20 years.
Dan also did keys on the original colors. You can see it when they played the full set live on their live DVD. Back then he was 75% of the backbone to the writing of the album(s)

I did listen to colors 1 then colors 2.
I have thoughts on the album...
Mainly... the album isn't as flowing and singular feeling as colors 1... colors 2 feels more like multiple pieces of music... all of the big parts and the small parts each feel like a climax to a story and it takes away from the big pay off you expect at the end of the album... white walls is a fucking closer. It brings finality... the last track on colors 2 feels too open... it does repeat back into song 1 nicely though...
The album is great and it's very colors esque. So I won't deny that... but I really miss those long passages and things on colors felt special here... it's almost like any song could be colors by them selves...
I will agree with you that after the last song ended I did say “ wait that’s it?”
I really wish the closing was similar to how they had a “closing act” with white walls where it slowed down and just hit that right FINISHING note. Especially when there is an “opening” track. Didn’t have the piece of music feel. Other than that, I LOVE the album.
I agree in some regard but also if they pushed more to be like colors 1 then it would feel lazy that they're just following the same path piece by piece. I'd rather original tracks/flow and Easter eggs than to get something expected and less original. Just my opinion.
