    I seriously can’t get over how beautiful and brilliant Casey’s musical vision is for the Act’s series. This is seriously once in a generation band. Waiting for the next album after Antimai is pure torture haha

      @@davismorgan99 Thanks for the warm welcome and good job on the video. I'm loving their music so far but all I have listened to is the Acts and I haven't finished Act 5 yet. I thought I heard something about a 6th act, is that right?

    • @davismorgan99
      @davismorgan99  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@AllKnowingCabbageit seems that for all intents and purposes, act 6 isn’t going to happen. It was originally envisioned as something other than a music album but the band has said that they haven’t thought of anything good enough to warrant creating an Act 6. Act 5 caps off the story kind of perfectly in my opinion and I can’t see what they would do to continue the story after it.

    Thank you so much for this... just got through the intro and I already liked and subscribed because you instantly seem to be charismatic, intelligent, and eloquent, and I needed this breakdown after listening to this band since act 1 first came out and before that even (treos) and never had the attention span to sit and dissect this myself. So thank you for your time.

    I'll be honest, I've seen them in my Discovery playlists for a while and never added any songs to my playlist. But your video has made me decide to go through their entire discography in order to give each song a chance before I decide if it's not for me. I'm about to start the 2011 EPs.

      Honestly, if you’re wanting to get started with them I would listen to Act IV all the way through without shuffling. That’s what got me into them and I think it’s maybe their best album.

    Yesssss!! Davis thank you! I’ve been waiting so long for something like this. Not only can I share it to people intimidated by the story, but it’s so fun to watch. Also, where did you find the music you used? The medley is so nice and the mood fits your channel so well! Anyway keep it up can’t wait for the next part

      Thank you my man! I actually recorded all of the music I used myself. Obviously interpolating some music from Act I as well as Act III at one point. Im probably going to clean up the track and mix it better and then put it up as it’s own video on the channel.

      I’ve been listening to them for 10 years but even I picked up on so much that I missed with all these videos. Like I always knew the broad strokes, but there is so much symbolism and parallels between albums that I never fully realized. I’m getting to the end of my Act 4 video and there are so many parallels to Act 2 that I never realized. The stories are like mirrored for the entire first half it’s crazy.

    • @CMHixen

      @ its a story told thru prog rock. I tried to get people about game of thrones, years before the show came out. Need to love the medium first. Only hope somehow there is a show or movie one day. Been waiting for the Coheed one too.

    Something that's always stood out to me specifically about the River is that, given the religious imagery of the setting, that her literal escape as well as her asks for forgiveness demonstrate an allegory for baptism.
    Obviously there already is and will continue to be lots of water imagery moving forwards, encompassing multiple layered metaphors. But I think it's important to keep a close eye on the symbolism in the story!

    I love this so much! I can't wait to listen to the next one. Not sure how often you plan on talking about Ms. Terri's/Ms. Leading's professions in the future installments, but using "sex worker" to refer to someone who works in the sex industry sheds less negative connotation on the job :) To end this compliment sandwich (because I can't stand not being polite lol), keep up the amazing work. 🌳

    I understand that you made the background music yourself and that's definitely cool, but for the next video please lower the volume for it, it's too loud and made it difficult at times to understand what you were saying.

    Ive always called them progressive indie rock

    • @davismorgan99
      @davismorgan99  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a good way to describe them. A lot of prog fans don’t consider them prog but progressive indie feels like it fits.

    • @davidwong6575
      @davidwong6575 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @davismorgan99 yeah modern prog is married to modern metal in a lot of ways so theres a lot of gatekeeping of the term even though its become less about progression and more about technical prowess. The dear hunter fit well into the 1970s idea of prog for sure though
