Most likely one of the very best documentaries I have ever seen. Species identification, habitat descriptions, the sad and growing list of extinctions (known ones). The whole world needs to be described this way - the damage to the environment cannot even be assesed. Soylent green may turn out to be the future yet.
Thank you for posting this jewel.

Outstanding documentary, but I feel like I have to mention it..... They featured f. labordi, but didn't mention their fascinating breeding cycle, and the fact that it is the shortest living tetrapod known to man?? Seriously, like 6-8 months out of the year there are no living labordis in the wild until the eggs hatch in November. Outrageous.

      F. Labordi are like extinct half of the year. My brains hurt to think about that.

1:01:35 this female is already pregnant as displayed by her gravid colours, this is probably why they are mating on the ground, she most likely tried to reject him and in a struggle dropped from the tree, if she had accepted his advances her colour would be very pink and light, unfortunately sometimes males will force themselves on the females as seen here (even though the guy goes on to say that this was a cooperative encounter lol)

***** This film took seven years to make and our principal videographer nearly died from malaria and heatstroke on two separate trips. We incurred significant cost in producing a professional video on DVD with bonus material and beautiful graphics, which required hiring a narrator and an artist. Three of us worked nearly a year to produce the finished product and we had to pay the studio to edit, add music we selected and overlay the narration. In the end, we only tried to recoup the costs that went into making the DVD, a fraction of the total true cost. We realized it was a labor of love and not profit before we began, but we felt it was important to record these chameleons before they are gone, and there is every indication that at least a dozen of them will be extinct in my lifetime. So, with this information, do you still begrudge us the income from the 100 DVDs still left in stock? I have given this video away free to teachers, conservation organizations and professional herpetologists engaged in fieldwork in Madagascar. If you still think I am being unfair, you will have to come up with a better argument.

CiN I went to your website to buy one of the DVDs but the shop page was down. I would like to purchase one when available. Have you also considered maybe selling on iTunes or TH-cam Movies? I didn't know if that was possible or not. Also, I'm a web designer and graphic designer. If you need any free help, let me know!

Take my advice and you can sell a good stock of your hundreds of DVDs. Create links from your TH-cam and Instagram. Add delightful commentary and behind the scenes of this massive project. You still have the opportunity to make it profitable. It takes marketing. If it were my project I would definitely spend the energy yo make it profitable. So much was spent on the endeavor and energy and friendships to create the project of love... then why drop the ball and not market it using modern resources that everyone is addicted to? This video has over 50,000 views. It should have been on your own page with links to buy the video not just on your own website but also links to Amazon because the shopping carts there are trusted. So... I went to your TH-cam and you have zero posted? You have work to do... use your time better and you won't have these DVD's piled up. I make good money as a Director of Sales and a multiple business owner. You just got some great free consulting. Now take the gentleman's free offer of doing your Web page too and get a move on sales.
