TH-cam! check out this dual cover of Decrepit Birth's "The Living Doorway" from their album Diminishing Between Worlds. learning this song was a true challenge, and i've developed a whole new level of understanding for their music in doing so. I learned all the solos by ear so I hope they're close.
all audio and video was recorded/shot by myself in my basement. audio mixed by Jesse Kirkbride of Dealey Plaza/King Conquer ( / kirkbriderecordings ) hit him up if you need cheap mixing/mastering!

guitars recorded with an Axe-FX ULTRA.

I just believe heel toe to be cheating. I'm assuming you were either going that or using pedals that add an extra hit.
Jon Novak Heel toe is just another technique IMO...if its your body doing it, its not cheating. Similar to how alternate picking on guitar is a more efficient technique than straight down strokes and no one calls that cheating. Heel up can sound better at times just like down strokes on guitar can, but if you're going for fast 16th notes it don't make much difference and you might as well use the more economical technique.
I agree with you. But there never use to be that. Take Tim yeung for example he uses swivel.
