I’m sure there are times when she knows she has a busy week and opts to not do that just like I’m sure she will but the prepackaged items when she can’t find bulk. Either way, it’s her money, her children, her time. It doesn’t really matter if she still follows the advice she started when she had just 3 kids

    This sistem it might be functional but it is definitely not healthy. Sorry to say that.
    I anyways live in a country where people tend to perceive lunch as a principal meal of the day. Many parents around me pay for a hot lunch at the school. But here, in Romania, a hot lunch means a soup and a second course (meat & vegetables). People also tend to eat a hot dinner too. I really don't hear about chips at school. I am far away from being a perfect parent and I am not judging. But maybe you need to reconsider this.

    This is so insane to me. The amount of waste that is produced just shocks me. And everything exept the fresh fruit is junkfood. Why does someone feed their kids such an expensive, high sugar no nutrition food? And with all this organizing, where is the convinience in that? Every item in all of those bins are treats for me. It would be much, much cheaper, less wastefull, and way better for the kids health to just let them make real food and sandwiches, pack veggies, fruits, water, and all of that in reusable containers and bottles. Plus then one treat item. Blows my mind that rich people in a developed country with access to so much education put so much effort and money into making such bad choices.

    • @BeautifulSunShine777
      @BeautifulSunShine777 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      I totally agree. This is all ultra-processed junk food! So bad for children and a huge waste of money. I agree with your last statement. The richer and more "educated" us Americans get the worst choices we can make especially with food. Some of the healthiest, longest living cultures in the world (The Five Blue Zones) ate very simple, predominately plant-based meals with no ultra-processed junk food. It wasn't until the western American diet came to their countries that they started getting the same chronic diseases that most Americans have. Simple, real, whole food keeps people healthy and it's cheaper.

And I am not even talking about the planetary boundaries that are being exceeded due to food production. We as a global society need to change together. While I concede your point regarding sustainability, I respectfully disagree with the extreme moralization and demonization of any kind of food. A meal doesn’t have to be perfect in order to be healthy. This lunch system is a great way for children to make their own food choices within some reasonable boundaries. I think this a helpful tool to help raise capable and independent children, which I think was the intention behind this video.

      Keep in mind that this is her lunch system for school. That is one meal where the kids can help prepare for themselves on busy mornings, so it’s not everything the kids eat. I love that you’re concerned for their health (and the planet!) and I think it’s safe to assume that this isn’t all the children eat. She puts a lot of content out there about family meals and fresh vegetables and fruit and protein, etc.

    As a frugal/budgeting content creator it appears from your videos that you buy exponentially more stuff than anyone I know. More junk food, more meat, more powdered drinks, more clothes, more cosmetics, more furniture, more decorations, more party supplies, more vacations, more vehicles, dune buggies, vacation lodge, bigger homes, multiple kitchen renovations....the list goes on. Most Americans would do well to visit other countries/cultures to see how little we actually need to live a truly happy and contented life. All this stuff is not doing us any favors.
    Of course large families require purchasing greater quantities of essential items like food, clothes, toiletries, etc. but so much of what you present in your videos are unnecessary purchases. Just because something is cheap or on sale doesn't mean you are saving money by purchasing it. You can purchase a freezer full of meat that was on sale but if you don’t use it before it goes bad that’s a waste of money. 90% of the things we buy are completely unnecessary and will end up as a pile of clutter or in the trash. Not to mention all the time and money it takes to shop for, organize, clean, maintain, repair, and declutter everything we own.
    “If we have to buy stuff to store our stuff then we probably have too much stuff." (Courtney Carver)
    Seems to me your frugal mindset has not curbed your desire to over consume in just about every area of your life. True frugality brings forth a mindfulness to buy only what is truly necessary. Consciously thinking about every item you bring into your home and deciding if you truly need them. Living a simpler more content life saves us time, money, and so much stress. You seem to consistently choose the opposite - more, more, more.
    A good example from this video is instead of purchasing one or two snack items for your children you purchased twenty different varieties of expensive junk foods that fill up multiple baskets and shelves in your pantry, therefore, requiring constant purchasing, refilling, maintaining, and organizing. Plus you threw many of those snacks in a trash bag before restocking. How is that frugal budgeting or smart time management?

      100% agree on all of this. Everyone has a right to operate their household as they see fit, but I find this kind of content to just spread more of the consumerism message. More, more, more. If people would do some research and understand how so much clutter and just stuff in general adds to stress and chaos in their life, there would be thought put into purchases. (This is especially true for those that have ADHD as having a more simple environment helps them to stay on track.) I'm not a minimalist, but I definitely lean that way and see the benefits. Anyone is interested in the less is more life, consider watching The Minimal Mom. She shares a lot of information on this subject matter.

      Been watching Jordan for years and I remember one of the referenced TV clips where she was demonstrating how her toddler son was taught to not waste toilet paper squares. That's pretty frugal. I unconsciously count the squares as well. And Jordan was using the leftover lint from the dryer for house insulation in the walls. Fast forward a few years, Winter 2021 she shared a Christmas video in which she allocated $500 budget per child. That to me was mind blowing. What a difference. Perhaps finances are much better now and the scarcity mindset is there and shows itself in different ways. We tend to overbuy in some areas while living with the fear that it's not enough. I think that she is in a much better financial state now and perhaps there is no need to be as frugal. Her content might have shifted as such. Not advertising consumerism here, it's a big problem we all face. It was that Christmas video in 2021 that made me pull the plug and start my own YT channel. If she can do it, so can I. I saw it as inspirational. But yes, consumerism, fast fashion, fleeting trends, affordable cheap products are a problem we all need to be mindful of.

      @@conservativemama3437 , "No such thing as free". That phrase is so tiring. I'm not 12. I understand that my taxes pay for every government program. That's not the point. The point is that every child - regardless of household income or the amount of time their parents have to prepare meals - can eat. No one has to go hungry and the school meals guarantee those children get a large part of their nutrition needs met for the day. Any parent still has the option to send a packed lunch with their child. So no one is taking away your freedom to do so.

    These videos are not very pleasant to watch because they are so rushed in an effort to upload something. Talking a mile a minute and frequently mentioning you don't have much time to film. If you're going to commit to a YT channel at least make the necessary time in your schedule to film an unhurried video. Unfortunately, the flashing words/pictures are not adding value to the video.
    If our lives become too busy or hectic it's wise to let a few things go - even YT. We can try to do a hundred things a day but if we're not doing any one thing well then we probably need to cut back and focus on the few things that are truly important like our families. YT is not essential.
