The main is really good in this. I like that savoury flavour and there's a decent chunk of beef.

Came across some leftovers from some US Marines while on an exercise and picked up this very packet of beef strips. Eating real slices of meat, even cold, was heavenly compared to the freeze dried cubes we get in my countrys rations😅

I'm surprised that there isn't a solid carb, like potatoes of some kind....

The date code used by MREs cosist of the last digit of the year, followed by the Julian date which is 1 through 365 (366 on leap years.) So your MRE was dated 2020 day 160, or June 8, 2020.
