    Thank you for the recipe. Can I cook the eggs for less time (say 3 minutes) so that they are not overcooked when I add them to the pork?

    • @RunAwayRice

    Did your recipe ask for vinegar for marinating the pork? I wasn’t sure cause I didn’t see it on your ingredients. Also do u recommend soy sauce at all?

    What heat setting of Saute did you cook the sugar?

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Instant Pot doesn't have variable heat setting for Saute. I wait until the display shows "Hot" and then cook the sugar.

      @@RunAwayRice OK. Mine has 3 different saute temps. I had a vietnamese girlfriend once and her older sister owned and cooked in a restaurant. At holidays she would make this, and I really liked it.

    This is quite similar to Chinese famous dish "braised pork in soy sauce", the recipe is a little different though.

    I don’t own an instant pot but we would like to get one soon. I do own a crock pot so I’m trying to think of how to make this with my slow cooker. My mom usually makes this recipe but she doesn’t use coconut water and they cook with ginger and their broth is deeper in color. But I love all your recipes tho

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before the Instant Pot, I made this in the slow cooker and it's just as delicious. Hard-boil the eggs, parboil the meat and make the caramel sauce on the stove top. Then toss everything together in the slow cooker and cook until the meat is tender, 5-6 hours on Low.
