This makes me wanna bring my vehicles all the way to Florida because I know that I can trust Ray to do it right ! Thanks for being honest Ray. It’s your finest quality ! 💪🏻😉
I feel exactly the same way above driving to Florida from my home in the Rusty Midwest, to have RAY make all necessary repairs, because I Know It's all HONEST WORK THAT'S BEEN REPAIRED PROPERLY ❤🙏
You do great work man, but I think it would benefit you to clean all parts removed and gereral area before reinstalling everything. I always like for the customer to visually see my work.
We have been entertained by Ray, Alvin the chipmunk, and Mr Noodle arm all in the same video. I never thought watching an engine and transmission being worked on could be so entertaining. Great job Ray!
Wat I appreciate about Ray is he doesn't advertise a lot these phoney companies pushing untested unsafe products during his repairs. Best sponsorship is better seen not heard in the background of the shop. Excellent work Ray and crew
Man that amount of sealant on anything is savage. I’m a heavy duty wrecker operator and can tell you copious amounts of sealant can definitely put a damper on your day. Can you please put insight to why driveshaft bolts are supposedly one time use. One of the most heated debates in my industry.
Loved the way you went about this, installing the pan, then the rear seal/cover, snugging everything then tightening. I have not personally done this so it was very informative to me. Seeing the "squeeze" of the rear cover/pan and the sealant was nice. I do live vicariously through your procedures and feel like I"m there. Thanks. Also, great seeing another cameo of Lauren/WifeUnit. She takes good care of you! 😊
Hi 👋🏽 Ray wife unit and Dave just finished watching second part video it’s awesome I wrenched for about 35 years now I 71 years old and watching work you’re honestly mechanic as always you all be safe in heat 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I stay away from them unless its the only option, which is the case in some instances. I had to get Dorman with a filler tube seal for a 97 Silverado Z71.
I’ve been driving these vans close to 30 years, and driver comfort is tertiary and so are conveniences. The rivets and the oil pan gasket help make it easier to install the factory.
Nobody else shows the complex repairs like you. Great job showing how to do the not so easy repairs. Pulling transmissions to do rear mains and oil pans. Also valve covers on a van are a pain. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming.
Enjoyed this one for sure..owned an 04, 3500, Access Van, 6.0, same trans, purchased new. Loved, cared for... At 95k, started hearing this screech scratch sound...No one, even one of GMs mechanics could pinpoint... Now, thinking back, I am pretty sure was a cam bearing...stupid MobilOne killed it.
Ray, when doing the pan and rear seal try putting the rear seal on first to give more room to fit it over the crank then add sealant at the front and rear joints before fitting the pan. That's how it was done on the production line I worked on. Cheers Eric
Ray, I’m not a mechanic, but enjoy watching a pro @work. You must have a lot invested in your electron ratchets! I have pneumatic tools, but those electron tools are pricy!
While watching Ray put the transmission back on, I couldn’t help but think Ray was going to do his famous camera-smash and say, “end of transmission”! 😊

Hey, Ray...one tip for ya. One of the holes in the flex plate is smaller than the rest. This allows you to install that one first, torque it down, and then put each of the others in and torque them down as you go. That way you only have to do it once. Picked that tip up from a transmission guy.
I'm happy to be retired now because when it's to hot or cold I don't have to work on anyone's cars. I fix whatever is wrong on many folk's cars even now but I'm selective on when and what I will do. Enjoyed this one in particular and was remined of doing mostly the same while lying flat on my back in the driveway.
Hey I finally made first comment. 56 seconds after posting. I'm glad you are back to a good routine. I'm sure all of us were jonsing for content. Nice long video, good job. Wife Unit is perfect. Also, the sped up voice is true comedy
Guessing that the local highway department doesn't even have salt. Why would they. We haven't needed any in Atlanta area for several years. We've had cold, but no cold and wet at same time.
ON a Personal Note, and as a retired older man, I highly recommend getting a " Hot Shave by a Professional Barber" on a regular basis, ... especially in such HOT weather as in Florida... does wonders for your health and personal wellness too.(Been there done this as a trucker in my past) All the fatigue from work seems to just disappear. Keep doing what your doing though bud... really enjoying your professional take on vehicles thanks!
Those Dorman rear covers for the LS are no joke. I've used several of them, not one comeback. Everybody can talk smack on Dorman all they want (well, their window regulators ARE a joke lol), but for things like this cover, the Pentastar aluminum oil heat exchanger/oil filter assembly etc, they're top notch.
Nice job ray first class work 👍👌🔧🔧🔧 a very trustworthy mechanic and most importantly keeping people safe and others on the road too ,may your shop be busy and wish you all the best ❤️👌👍

You spend a lot of time on lighting and camera placement to allow us to see what you are doing, though I am sure you are working by feel most of the time. Great video. It is hard to do good camera work. And you are also working flat rate to complete the job.
Good job, seemed like a very productive day. I like to work on my vehicles less and less, but still do all oil, filter, diff, brake work myself. I don't want to be paying the shop to do it and then find out they screwed up. If it's gonna get screwed up, I want it to be me that does it. PSA: the word debris has no plural or singular form, it's just debris all day long. Pronounced "debree". Your welcome. 🤓

As in 'Sensuous in there, might as well replace it."
She got nice legs
I mean the oil pan pickup!
I can confirm that I like seeing nice and shiny new parts on cars.😌
i do too but the repair seems excessive. a simple seal conditioner in the fluid would have likely sufficed.

Ray using the floor as a giant table.
