- SAP has provided various criteria to filter Idocs based on certain fields for a particular message type and partner profile. For example, we can send MATMAS Idocs of a specific material type, plant, storage location, warehouse, etc., only to certain partner profile.
In all such cases, we need to set the configuration such that master data Idocs are triggered only for specific criteria for a particular partner profile.
Configuration steps
1. Assign the ALE object type, segment type and field to be filtered to the required message type in BD59
Filter fields for our business requirements are MTART (Material type ROH and HALB) and WERKS (Plant 1000).
Other business processes may need other fields and you can copy those fields, segments, and ALE object type from the standard message type MATMAS to our custom message type as required
2. Input the values of the fields to be filtered to the message type in the Distribution model in BD64
Test steps
Positive test
Send one material of material type ROH and one material of type HALB for plant 1000 using our message type in BD10. It must generate communication idoc successfully.
Negative test 1
Send one material of material type other than ROH or HALB for plant 1000 using our message type in BD10. It must not generate communication idoc.
Negative test 2
Send one material of type ROH or HALB belonging to plant 2000 and it must not generate idoc.
