the part where they didnt give translations was bcoz he was making vocal runs. just like English theory has "do re mi fa so la ti do"....we have "sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa", and every note he sings is accurately on the right note as designated and he is playing with them through something in south asian classical music called raags which have fixed rules about some note placements
This is our traditional music This is just rehearsal but this was so perfect that the producer finalize this_ They are living legends Lady with Curly hair is legendary abida Parveen Man is legendary Ustad Rahat Fatah Ali khan

This is an adaptation of a poem written by Amir Khusro in the 14th Century. He was a Sufi poet and wrote this about his spiritual master, Nizamuddin Aulia. In Sufi poetry the soul is often referred to as "the bride" and the master and God as "the beloved". So a devotional song becomes a love song of the soul longing for the Beloved.
At the 12:30 Mark what he is doing is singing musical notes (much like do re me fa so) in a certain combination. So it's a technique in Qawwali music where he sings the note at the tone it is supposed to be when he says it.
Chaap = copy / face Tilak = identity The wali ullah = Saint, mr. Nizamuddin saw the poet = mr. Ameer khusro, and Ameer khusro' chaap and tilak were gone. This is about finding GOD through GOD 's holy man , Saint, wali , mr. Nizam = nijaam
When you said “I cried inside but I don’t know why” this exactly is the tone and beauty of this song and this kind of music. Music transcends beyond languages and borders. You just touched the soul of the song that made you emotional 😊
Khusrau was a person who devoted his life to nizamud din auliya a sufi saint who is still revered and due to his his timeless and loving devotion now khusrau is also revered,he is an inspiration for all sufi seekers
you Should react to rahat fateh ali khan's uncle his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan He was even big of legend From him he is the student of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan ❣️
May the almighty GOD make all stations easy for your friend, may he rest in peace, 25 is no age to die man, May GOD help you getting through this heavy loss
The author of the lyrics, Amir Khusro, refers to himself in the 3rd person in his poetry. This was common in Sufi poetry and you will see this in the poems of Bulleh Shah (which have also become the lyrics of Qawwali songs).
Khusro was a sufi singer, poet, and scholar from Persia. It isnt a devotional song. More of a folksong. Those were musical notes, very common in classical music.
The singing isn't the craziest part, that would be that it was supposed to be just a rehearsal for the song, it turned out to be insanely good so they just kept it as it is. 😲
So I just wanted to point out that some songs in coke studio are made from Sufi poetry(it is kind of a spiritual poetry). The poetry is heavily metaphorical and may confuse you if they are talking about a person(loved one) or Religion/Prophets/God. It’s very open to interpretation. Also since most of it is written by spiritualists it is actually referred to the divine. Also Khusro and Nizammudin auliya were both famous Muslim spiritualists.
Thank you. I wanted someone to tell him about the unique features of Sufi, Gazal and Kawalis music. Sufi music is so powerful! The depth of the lyrics lets one relate the depths, to ANYTHING one relates to and ponder on. ❤️ Urdu is such a beautiful language! Though I do not know the language completely, what I listen in the form of music always hit me proper. Such beauty of the words and pronunciations! 👌🏻
@@LisAbe Your welcome! Urdu is a hard language and even the layman urdu speaker cannot understand its poetry fully. You really need to have interest to interpret and the background of the written piece to get the layered meaning behind it. Often the language used is not the problem. I know from school that the ghazal written with the easiest vocabulary were the hardest to paraphrase. Haha😅
Rahat Fateh Ali khan ( male) singer is Lengendary Classical singer with strong vocals Abida perveen ( female) singer is Legendary Sufi ( about devotion/spiritual) singer with soulful vocals.
Hi QoFlyReacts, Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece with two Pakistani living leagends and welcome to our world of music, which is enchanting, intoxicating, spiritual and simply mind-blowing. Check out season 14 trust me you won't regret. It will give you a little taste of everything.
The notes you were calling scatting That's was classical musical notes From South Asia ( mainly in Pakistan and India). It's way more hard than Scatting. It's needs years of Practice.
So, Pakistan and India both have huuuge Muslim populations. So, you find islamic names from both countries. But these two musical legends are Pakistani by nationality. Rahat has worked extensively in both countries though. Abeeda, I am not sure if she has worked in India. But she is maestro in her field. These two are such giants in the South Asian musical industry overall that you would be hard pressed to not be impressed with their abilities. They are world renowned artists n extremely revered for their craft.
its Raga means tunes singing by throat ... what they are singing in-between the lines... tunes are mostly sing by the MASTERS (ustad) of music not a normal person can do this...
Bro this type of music is called Sufi kalaam (its not a song). This Kalaam isn't about worldly or human love. its devotional style of music which is about love for the one creator (God). Lyrics are metaphoric and have much deeper meaning.
@@QofyReacts That's okay. We're all still learning new things every day. The fact that you're open about learning and exploring stuff is admirable itself. Please react to more stuff from Pakistan. Pakistani music scene is a sitting goldmine. Best of luck for your channel.
I just want to say the English translation is not 💯 accurate.. like here 14:31 the translation reads 'Come and let his slave dye you in his hue' but there is no mention of 'slave' in the og lyrics..

Really sorry to hear about your friend. May his soul rest in peace, and may these spiritual works continue to bring you patience.
Khusrau was a great Persian and Urdu poet. This is close to Sufi/Qawaali/Spiritual music. Which you'll find a lot in Pakistan.
