Do Metroid next. I was never a big fan of Metroid, but Metroid: Zero Mission turned out to be my favorite Metroid game.
I love the Rearmed version best, but both were great for their time. I wish more NES games would get the Rearmed treatment. I don't think the Strider remake fared as well.
Also a big fan of BCR1 and its sequel as well. A shame that the Strider remake did not so well as I thought it was a good idea to make it like a Metroid game.
Great start to a new series! There's a caveat with the PC version of Rearmed: The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions received an update that changed some of the swinging mechanics, made the Albatross outside level not required on lower difficulties, and other changes the PC version didn't get. I think I prefer the way it was pre-patch (I.E. on PC), but the new adjustments make it friendlier for beginners. You don't have the option of that on PC.
There are also hidden challenge stages unlockable with codes, and some of those are exclusive to the PS3 version.
This is a great idea for a series. You should do more videos with other games that have newer versions.
Always liked Bionic Commando. Never knew about the Rearrmed version until watching this upload. Definitely going to play this. Thank you for sharing this with the masses!
great video, would love to see more in this series ⏪ ♻️
This is one of my fave NES games as well. I love both of them.
The bionic commando arcade game can be played via the capcom game stadium, btw.
I’ve never had a chance to play the original, but I love ReArmed. Just a great gaming experience for all the reasons you mentioned. I also liked ReArmed 2, though not as much as part 1. I think Rad Spencer works more as a solo agent instead of leading a team.
Loved the nes version wish they updated it to the SNES
The NES version of Bionic Commando was available on the GBA in NA on the Capcom Classics Mini Mix.
Plus the Game Boy version. I always liked that one better, but maybe that's because I think arm cannons can improve just about anything.
can you cover the gb and gbc bionic commandos?
I think one of the more obvious ones but something I'd still be interested in seeing in this format is The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Binoic Comando is in my top nes games list. I might have more time in it than any other nes game outside of zelda mario and metroid. beaten it so many times. As for remake suggestions.. A boy and His Blob comes to mind.
The NES version is solidly in my top 10. But I might be weird because Rygar is too.
Just curious, what file is needed to have it running on Windows Pc? And does it work on the Steam Deck?
Oops, I've now added the link to the file you need in the description! If the top one doesn't work (which it probably will, it did for me anyway!), use the alternative one instead and it should work flawlessly. I think they're just legacy drivers that are needed for slightly older games like this that your PC doesn't automatically download anymore.
I assume it will work on Steam Deck too, but I don't have one to confirm!

I'm sorry to say that this game is not backwards compatible on Xbox One or Series S / X.
I onced owned it on Xbox 360 but now I mostly play it on PC via Steam. Bought the Steam release when it was on offer for under £1.
That's sad to hear! It's weird it isn't backwards compatible on Xbox considering that's where it first became popular. That's another reason to hope for some kind of re-release down the line!

@@RetroDodo it is strange considering the sequel is infact backwards compatible... aka BioRearmed 2.
👍👍
Interesting 🤔🤔
Why can't be ReArmed be available for Switch?!?!
I know! It seems like a no-brainer to port it over. They could even do a big Bionic Commando collection with Rearmed 2, the 2009 game, the original NES version and all of the Game Boy ones. I would buy it!
u should do this with the bio shocks maybe
The original nes version is the best, the ps3, xbox 360 reboot sucks
