I've said it before, and I'll say it again...girls in Irish dance today have it so easy with their dresses. They look so light and small. Me, I still have my 3-panel, million-pound solo dress from my feis days circa 15 years ago. No wonder it's so much easier for them to stay smiling.

Yes it seems awkward because most other styles of dance focus on the actual music and how one flows with the song, but with competition irish dance, they all dance rather faster than the tempo of the song.
@@lukekslr I know a couple of girls that had that done to improve their dancing. Unfortunately for one of them she has suffered crippling pain since and finds walking extremely difficult.

the dresses are still quite heavy!
trust me, they aren’t light. the weight of the fabric and the diamonds don’t help much, and as a dancer, i can confirm this.

This is hard shoe Irish dancing, not tap dancing. But your idea sounds wonderful! Definitely go for it, Irish dance is very fun.
