His will to win was higher than I've seen from any other player. It was personal to him, beyond just pride. He cared about all the players, the fans and the club. He felt it was his responsibility to make sure every player played at 100% and the standards never dropped.

The "Animal on the pitch" analogy had me rolling like Rio because anybody who watched football back in those days knew exactly what he meant😂😂😂.. Roy absorbed all the pressure for the other lads to go out there and play beautifully, while he took care of all the nastiness. Vieira was a better footballer than him.

Peak Mourinho used to take all the pressure on his players and carried it himself. Roy Keane was doing it on the pitch. He understood that the warmup isn’t entirely about physical preparation. He did that all week ahead of the game. On the day he was getting his head on straight, and the body would take care of itself. The absolute heart of that team.

Everyone pushing for our boy ruud to replace ten haag ive got to ask genuinely why on earth would you want that to happen? As much as ruud is a living legend for our club and he will forever be adored for the time he played for us, id like someone to tell me genuinely what hes done in management that qualifies him to manage one of if not the most difficult jobs in football that is packed to the brim with pressure and in some cases can actually ruin a mans entire managerial career if it doesnt go well. What has ruud done in management to be replacing ten haag if ten haag is to fail? As a footballer he was a god. But as a manager he is a novice and has little experience and next to none at the top level. Why would you wish to place such a demanding and thankless job/task on one of our legends? Just look what the job did to ole? We still adore the man however his career is forever tainted and even the most loyal of fans of ours aimed so much anger and venom at him during difficult times. The LAST THING we should want to do is put that type of pressure and stress on another legend specially when his managerial career has nothing yo say he will thrive and achieve greatness. Sure its a punt ofcourse there is always that chance of ruud turning out the same as pep did fot Barcelona and absolutely smashing it in a positive way. But those chances and tiny and very unlikely specially in this day and age of football. I just dont see the upside and as much as i respect ruud as a former player of ours, he hasnt earned such a difficult job to basically be taking a punt. I really jope these ambitions of some fans wanting him in the hot seat pipe down and hes afforded time to work under ten haag and learn his trade gradually. Because unfortunately for us and how our team has performed over the past decade, i personally see it as a death sentence if he was given the reigns and i dont want ruuds name and legacy to be negatively effected i wouldnt wish that on any of our former players. Id much rather take a qualified and proven manager to take us to the next level IF ten haag fails. Id adore the prospect of a zidane to come in and take a challenge on. The only thing thats prevented him from considering the job is apparently he is very far off from knowing and speaking english to the level he would like to be able to really make a difference to our team and basically hes said only when he becomes fluent and more confident in english will he only then consider managing in england. Barring that i see him potentially doing well. Specially considering hes already managed a former team that has practically the same pressures and intensity to having to achieve and do well (real madrid) and judging by his cv he proved he could handle the pressure and easily out did himself of what he expected from himself and also what real madrid expected from him. Lets hope good old Zeezoo is taking english lessons as a type this lol

Get bent it was Keane's job to keep everyone on their toes and in line your getting paid millions to kick a ball you should put your all into it and that's what Keane demanded and if you couldn't meet those expectations your not a United player simple as name me one player who played with Keane who hates him non of them do so if he was such an uncaring person why do all these people speak nothing but love for Keane and people who care about you should push you to do better and a narcissist come off it you never heard Keane talk about himself have you he always describes himself as a bang average player he "just did the simple things" that's an actual quote a narcissist would never describe themselves as a person who's abilities are average

@nathanconnolly395 Nope!!!... bull...its his job to motivate players as captain.... its a clear stated fact that roy used awful words, language and names calling to certain players.. meaning that's abuse... you clearly think abuse is OK... iv no doubt your acting from a point of view that you think behaving the way he has at times is OK... he has admitted he has no patience, Robson, and all other famous captains never treated players that way... there is huge difference between motivating players and abusing players.... he over did it many of times and past players have stated that and it lead to his sacking.

@nathanconnolly395 Jesus man as much as the man was great on the pitch, the fact is he has and admitted to having character defects ... im well versed at Roy Keane but another fact has emerged, your overlooking his defects because of the love you ha e for him as a player... when all I did was state facts about other parts of who he is as a man which is more stated facts from players and you can clearly see by his attitude towards ref, players and staff... but all the best

@@boxingfit so you can't name a single player he played with that hates him thanks for providing my point you no nothing of Roy Keane expect for what you've read in the tabloids and again these people are paid millions to kick a ball grow up and do your job instead of crying about it and I'll point this out to you he was right what happened to the teams he managed after he got sacked they got worse so players can cry all they want like Gabby the only time people talk about him is when he's crying about Roy Keane.

That hairband thing is an absolute disgrace since when having hairband prevents you from cooking your opponents. Young Messi was cooking defenders with armbands.
Roy should look at what Haaland is doing to his beloved man it’s with hairband on the head
You don’t have no long hair you should mind you effing business.

No word of a lie, from a man who lives 5min from OT and got to see this man play, Rudd was absolutely clinical in front of goal, 150 goals in 5 seasons.
He would have easily smashed shearers record if he would have stayed.
I remember the 1st time we tried to sign him and he got injured.
I thought "this guy is a clown"
    Next year we sign him.
30 goals a season, for 5 seasons, is unbelievable as a striker.
Go on rudd my son, wish you the best lad
