I just got accepted into nursing school yesterday and am finishing up my prerequisites right now. I feel you on the impact that quarantine has on motivation/inspiration. I feel like without my school routine I’m nothing. But being accepted has kicked me in the right direction again. I’d love a video on tips for new nursing students! What to expect, things you wish you knew, the most important things from your prerequisites to refresh on before you start your program, what to prepare for, what you did right before your first semester, all that stuff :)

Definitely questions!, I am currently in med surg right now.. and it's so much information crammed into 5 weeks.. it's hard to retain so much. I have to push through as well, because during lecture I find myself dosing off just staring at a computer for 6 hrs a day 😭. You got this! ❤
Just started 4th semester of nursing & we do concept based learning style. Last semester I had my first instructor(ever) teach straight from the book without powerpoints lol but I'm back to having tons of them. So I'm making my study guide like yours & I was just wondering if you still use this & how it worked out for you. I want to condense everything down as much as possible but as you know it's difficult to predict what is actually important to know. Can't believe I stilll have this problem lol

perfect timing bc tomorrow is literally my first day of my ABSN! Before you used to write out the lectures while watching and then make a study guide but are you just typing them out/making the study guide as you go through the lectures now? id love to see videos on how to survive online school since you've been doing it for awhile!
Yes i totally forgot to like say that in the video, but i dont handwrite anymore... its all on that word document!! Those notes become my new study guide :)
Do you just keep reading over it, it’s kind of hard just to memorize it from typing it out.

My notes are just like yours, a lot of people think it’s cluttered or TOO much but for me I have to understand it fully to be able to do answer questions & work my way around things. I also am huge in formatting, highlighting, extra paper etc. sometimes I right something down once and don’t even refer back to it ever again. But writing it down helps!

Hey, hey, hey 👋🏻 By any chance do you share your study guides/pass them down to future Loyola student also going into the absn program? I’ve always had to work extra hard in school than the average person and uuuf looking at all your information makes me really nervous 😰 i can spend all day taking notes and studying, yet I can’t wrap my head on how I would be able to completed all those notes for all those classes.
i'd love to see you do a video on how covid-19 has impacted your nursing program. i'm applying for a program soon and want to know if my experience will be less beneficial as opposed to pre-covid (i.e. are classes mostly online? are labs smaller or less hands-on? has covid impacted clinicals? etc.)

When you make these study guides, how long do they take you? Cause it's a lot of information. I too love beautifully formatted notes, but it takes A LOT of my time making the notes, but I find that I'm too occupied making notes rather than studying them to my liking :(
That’s how I feeeeal too! I feel like all my time goes into just the notes. 😓 her videos make me nervous and question if I’d be able to get through it. I don’t mind giving all the time to school. I already do that all the time. It’s just if all my time goes into trying to make my notes when will I be able to study for all the classes.

This is so helpful! I was not prepared for online nursing school.. went on spring break having no idea we wouldn’t go back and things have been so overwhelming. I feel like I’m drowning in busy work and I’m struggling to organize and learn the material because it’s being thrown at us so fast and we’re expected to just absorb it all. I love your study guide and how you crunch all the info down. Motivation has been the hardest in all of this. My husband’s business has sunk and I really need him to care for the kids so I can get through the last six weeks of the semester so it has been stressful as heck. I know this situation is affecting everyone in different ways but please know, you’re not alone! Just keep swimming 🙂
Its a terribly difficult transition and it’s affecting so many people in many different ways. Stay safe and keep your head up! It’ll all be worth it in the end❤️
You've got this Rachel!!! It is really tough being a parent and going to school. I have 3 kids (16, 15, 9) and with trying to work full time, help them with their homework and keep a clean house, it is hard work!! My husbands business is also a little slow but we are managing ok. Hang in there!!

To me making a study guide and all of that is kool but it’s a waste of precious time for me ... long as i have the powerpoints my book and lap top .what i do is study by following my powerpoints and the book then go to either ATI or my book website and just do practice questions like 150 or more a day.

Hey Diana ! It’s another Diana from Texas lol ! So I just got accepted into nursing school, and I definitely used your previous study tips especially creating a routine which helped me tremendously this last semester. With the whole rona and not being able to go back to school after spring break to finish my micro and chem class I definitely felt unmotivated to do anything. Luckily I was still able to get accepted into nursing but again it’s online format for now. I would love to see how you organize material, I really liked how you showed in one of your last videos how you keep yourself organized with what you do on your planner, but maybe one with how you separate your class work for different subjects. Thanks for you videos they definitely helped a lot ! And best of luck with the rest of your nursing school journey!

How are you studying for the NCLEX?
Girl, you are amazing!!! I am so impressed. I would like to ask you: how long does it take you to read each chapter this semester and the study guide? How do you stay motivated and keep the energy? Please answer for I need help!
Going through a lecture can take me anywhere from 1-3hours (depending on the class). Studying each section and reading through the textbook also varies on the information and class. But can take between 1-3hrs as well.
My motivation is very questionable during this quarantine because i CANNNOOT focus at home. But, the fear of failing pushes me through 😩 i have to find a quiet spot, get a coffee, a snack and check out for acouple of hours.

Hello I am in the rn program and I have the worst teachers ever and they are not helping me, they don’t offer study guides cuz they thinks it’s cheating they don’t give hints on how they prepare the test question wise. One teacher literally told me you need to know it all, 5 chapters for one test 100 prayed each chapter and she says know it all. That’s all the help I get. Reading for hours and trying to remember everything is not helpful and not possible for me. Do you have any suggestions ?

Just to be clear, you don’t take notes in your notebook anymore like you were first semester? Now you look at the PowerPoint and type your notes instead? Then print and add written notes in the margin?
